i was driving down the road and got challenged by another civic. lined up at the stop-light like i've done a dozen times.when i launched, i felt a HUGE bump, and didnt think much about it. i won the race, and after i went home, i looked at my front left tire. i lanched so hard that i broke a belt inside the tire. so new tire comes in friday, and back to the streets! That would suck.
What you need is a d series vtec head (from an SI of some sort) a vtec solenoid, and a vtec controller(to lower the rpm for the vtec lobes to engage by about 250rpm). You can get the head and solenoid for around $100-150. Not sure on the controller.
P&P the head and port the intake, get a valve job, swap the cam, and enjoy 20-30hp at the crank...maybe more how would I know.
