• need suggestions for new car

this is what i am looking into:
98-99 gtp 2 door
97+ f body
possibly a eclipse(just b/c of gas)
and they are kinda sporty

my price range is around 6500

i noticed there are some nice 98-99 gtp for fairly cheap and decent miles!!
i really like the 2 doors plus my grandma has one and i know they are quick stock!!

i looking on ebay and 6500 is no sweat for a gtp, but what could i look to pay for one from say a dealer for a 98-99

btw i am close to houston so possibly might find one on ebay drive over test drive if i like then i can bid and buy!!!
for example:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ponti...79255264QQrdZ1

i really like that car but dont have my ins. money yet, but when i get it i am sure i can find one in houston area probably!

lmk what you all think

ps. is there a grand pric forum

If it wre my choice, I'd get a GTP

but if you don't mind v6 f-bodies anymore, I'd get one of those.

definitely a no on the eclipse.

I have a 99 GPGT and I have no probs w/it. In fact, w/gas prices the way they are I'm glad I don't have a GTP, as teh 93oct will really eat your wallet. I've done a best of 15.5 mulitple times in teh 1320, and have gotten (multiple times) 35mpg hiway. IF you still want the bada$$ power of the M90, then go for it. www.clubgp.com is the Grand Prix website. Either one you choose will be a good ride, as I've enjoyed mine for the last 4yrs

edit: I have almost 65k on my GP, but will say that "buy it now" price is a schweet deal

My suggestions, respectfully submitted, in order of my liking:

A. 99+ F body, preferably Firebird.
B. 98-99 gtp 2 door
C. Eclipse

Good luck!

If you want something kind of economical/easy on the wallet do not get the GTP. You forget, it requires premium fuel.

If it were me ---- I'd nix the Prix idea and the Eclipse idea.. I'd go for either a 94/95 Mustang GT 5spd coupe or 98+ V6 F-Body. You'd be surprised, the 'Stang GT would do you well down there :D

It runs on regular 87 Octane, its a 302, has 5 gears, and will get as good fuel as a V6er if you don't put your foot in to it at every stop light. As for the speed, all it needs is 2 mods to drag 90% of the guys on this forum.

I'm getting 17mpg in the city with my 4x4 ZR2 (high-wide stance truck) with 31" bias-ply all-terrain tires V6 truck solely because of the way I drive and it doesn't have a single modification done to it
