Im not sure about the laws etc. but the fact that you went to their apartment to confront them puts you in the wrong as well.
Im puzzled why the other guy wasnt arrested...
Attacks you from behind, you have visual injuries, and you get arrested???
I have seen cops many times, (not saying cops is the law of the land:)) and I have seen people who have had things happen to them who shouldnt have gotten arrested, get arrested because of the conduct they show when the cops are there.
Anyways, just remember 2 wrongs dont make a right. I would have just called the cops and had your mom and dad make a formal complaint right after the lady started yelling at your mom.
