• Do you guys frown upon this?

I read the tech forums all the time, and ask questions in them when I have trouble. I learn a ton of stuff by just reading through the posts but I seldom ever post anything useful in the tech areas, but that is only because I really don't know all that much or have good advice to give. I leave it to the people who know much more than me. So when I do post, its usually just in the lounge because, I dont know, I just like having discussions with people who hold a similar interest (F-bodies) with me. It just seems latley, the respected members of this board hate the useless people like me, lol. Is this true? If so, I'll keep my posts to a minimum . Hey, just checkin ya know? ;)

P.S. I'll save you the trouble, viewing my most recent posts will just show the lounge, lol.

no, thats what this board is for, people who are looking for information. the older members dislike the newer members who come and ONLY use the lounge, and ***** and moan about this site. feel free to post in the lounge as much as you like, as long as you dont try and cause problems, no one's got a beef w/ you.

ohh back on topic

just dont post the same questions that have been answered over and over again. If you have a question search first then if you cant find your answere then you can ask. Thats about the only stuff people will get mad about.

The problem is that none of those "new" members that join and immediately complain are actually new... they are just new screen names for old members that were banned. They say they hate it here, yet they keep coming back again, and again, and again.

Go figure. *shrugs*

its funny because when threads are started without any type of technical advice it gets locked.. at least thats how it has been this passed month

this place used to be the only place i went to not only for tech advice.. but for news and opinions on things.

i dont know, call me crazy, but all the "interesting Topics" that i enjoy reading get locked.

[soapbox]

I can think of a few people ("new" and "old") that I wish posted less in the technical forums.

(1) Mostly because they don't really know what they are talking about but think that they do.
When you try to tell them they are wrong, they refuse to hear the truth.

(2) Others are just regurgitating previous thoughts (from other people) without knowing the Whys and Hows.
This type of action leads to (1).

(3) And so I mostly lurk, read, laugh to myself, and shake my head at some of the attitudes on the forum.
Posting only when I feel it is truly necessary.

(4) People of types (1) and (2) seem very sensitive to other people's posts and will quickly reduce a healthy discussion to an idiotic flame war.
This aggravates me greatly and would lead to much smiting if I had my druthers.

[/soapbox]
