with the turbo and and internals the engine will be sucking in alot more air. the LT1 MAF is larger and can account for more airflow. I know miatas upgrade to rx7 mafs, but I've never heard of us v6s being able to switch up.
I cant imagine it being a pretty basic bolt on as far as the PCM is concerned. Why not just take the stock one and port it a little bit and maybe use the LT1 screen or something?

Juan tb & maf conversion for the fwd cars, had to reprogram the pcm due to the diferent range/values for the maf sensor. But then they did get buku more horse w/it.
edit: This is the gtx/p project car featured in HPP mag. I don't see how a bigger maf wouldn't work on our engines w/proper reprogrmming.
