yay my car is all done and painted. well, it still needs a windshield but oh well. ill have pics ASAP. the paint looks SO good. very happy with the way it turned out.

bad news: leaves are falling on the fresh paint, not good. i dont have any money now at all. i even had to borrow $150 off my dad. but i do have a tarp in my room, i dont know why its there. i just found it moving stuff. question is should i just toss the tarp on or will it do more harm than good? thanks everyone.

EDIT: can i maybe put a blanket on it? and then the tarp? i gotta do something, please help someone :(

i dont know, its next to me now and its not exactly soft. its actaully kinda rough.

i paid $3200 sence i know someone is going to ask. that was to, paint the undersides of the two new fenders and 2 new bumpers. pull the frame, and " hang" ( line up ) everything. and of course paint the hole car. i helped take off the old bumpers/fenders. and i helped as much as i could ( dad is good friends with the guy that did it ) so he let me help.i learned alot.

You cannot wax it for a couple of weeks. I would buy a cover for it. If the tarp is not very secure, the wind will move it around, thus scratching you car.

Blanket then the tarp (temporarily) sounds like a good idea to me.

tarp will defenitly scratch the paint.

the guy said wait AT LEAST 90 days before i wax it.

the tarp is 40 x 20. i think it should be plenty big anough. maybe i can put rock on the tarp that hangs down and hits the ground. then it wont move. but yea im pretty sure it'll scratch the heck out of it. so i gusse blanket then tarp is the way to go until i have money for a cover. thanks guys. ill take pics tomoro after school then try to drop them off at the one hour photo and maybe have them up tomoro night hopefully.

What I did with my car...

never put anything on it, carcovers and such will still scratch imo...

honestly thing that helped mine seem less soft the best. Keep it out in the sun.

course easier to do with a Camaro. Thing darkened up after 2 days and got, not so soft.

do not put a tarp on it.... if you use a cover, make sure that teh paint is completely free of dirt or the dirt will abraid the paint under the cover.. a garage is your best bet if you can...

putting anything on the car dirty will cause little scratches from it moving around. blanket and tarp might work, but if youre going to do anything i'd say carcover, and only when its clean. other than that just leave it uncovered.

Can you move it to were you can attach one end of the tarp to a tree branch, or something high, and then the other end secured to the ground. Make a small tent for the car?

i was thinking between my back deck and pool.( then just drive under it ) which kinda looks like what im going to end up doing. but stuff can still blow in under it, and hit the front/rear bumper. maybe ill look and see what those storage garages want for 3-4 months.
