  • RSX-S the dark side?

so I have been thinking about a new ride lately. I have thought about the G6 because honestly I like pontiacs, not going with a GTO or any other v8 as a primary vehicle just because it's too impractical. My motorcycle gives me plenty of speed thrills. Anyway now that I live in the city and can travel anywhere from 12 to 40+ miles in a day depending on where I'm going I was thinking of getting something small but still fun. Thus enter an RSX type S. Ya know it's a honda and some consider it rice, but just seems to make sense it's small, I will get a little better mileage, good car well built so long as I don't beat the crap outta it too much I shouldn't have any problems.
Honestly I am thinking I'd like something a little bit smaller than my bird and this little car really seems to fit the bill. So any feedback?? If I were to buy one now I'd proably get an 04, I just don't believe in buying a new car and taking the initial hit in value.

I plan to drive a couple this weekend so long as the weather is nice.

Yeah, those are nice cars. Plenty of aftermarket parts for it. Even turbo that will put it in the 12 sec.

But for the same price range, I would rather take an SS Cobalt. To me it looks better with a lot more torque.

yeah I think I might have to check out that cobalt, though if I remember right it has one of those goofy 747 wings on the back, IMO just dumb.

You probably can order it without the wing...

Brad - Sounds like the car would suit you fine. I wouldn't be caught dead in one, but that's just me.

I like the RSX-S. I haven't driven one, but I have been in my buddies multiple times. Nice interior and good pick up, but less room for things than our cars (don't know if that matters to you). I'm sure the build quality is probably light years above the cobalt and it doesn't look and sound like butt (read: cobalt).

Okay, here you go: Cobalt vs. Acura RSX-S

                http://www.roadandtrack.com/article....4&print_page=y

Do you know how many ricers got ticked off by this article.

I still like the Cobalt exterior, even with that notorious wing. But the RSX does have a nicers looking interior. But being a SC, it has a lot more potential with its engine.

Check out how the Cobalt beats the RSX in just about every category. Usually R&D has a bad reputation for favoring Jap and German cars over American cars, but not this one.

</font>[/QUOTE] Just because it's a honda means it MUST have a better interior. GM has really stepped up. All their new cars have really nice interiors.

My friend has a Cobalt LS, and the interior is excellent.

That's where the V-tec kicks in.

I prefer low end than high end.
