I don't see what everyone was making a fuss about--everyone said XP sucks this or that... I like it!
My laptop from work is equipped with Windows XP Pro and Office 2003... and after using that for a month I couldn't stand my home PC with my Windows 2000 Pro and Office 2000 Pro. We have an employee discount program with Microsoft so I picked up the later versions and installed them a few days ago along with a new Dell 17" LCD monitor.
Why does it seem like people hate XP? I can understand XP Home sucks but Pro is fine. Runs a lot faster than my old 2000 install, its built on the same base technology anyway (basically Windows 2000 with a body kit), Office 2003 has really grown on me (I spend ten hours a day in Excel doing advanced financial modeling and forecasting), everything is more colorful, it just looks and feels more cutting-edge. I've been using 2000 since 1999 so the old grey color scheme started to feel old.
I'm a happy XP convert.
