AGP or PCI Express?

yeah that is why I posted this. I wanted to see what you guys thought. and after reading up on the NVIDIA SLI tech I think I will just go with AGP. I think it would just be a waste to go with an expensive single card when dual card support is right around the corner. I think i'll just get a 6600 series card and the current board.

so what is the release date for Nforce 4? I have looked around the nvidia site and cant find it.

PCIe? Gawd, I used to be really up to date with all the new computer stuff comming out. I guess my car stopped all that. So whats the Deal with this PCIe? its if faster, buy it. right?

haha mee too. stoped paying attention about 2 years ago to play with the car and now I am playing catch up.

I'm confused, are you going with AGP or PCIe, because it seems like from that post you're leaning towards a SLI PCIe solution at a later date.

Yes, I also realize that PCI cards still exist but how many of them are "top of the line" solutions? Just about none. The same thing is going to happen with AGP, even though PCIe at this time is not being utilized to its full potential.

To each their own, I just believe that a PCIe slution is going to cost less in the long run, as opposed to a slightly (just barely) cheaper AGP solution. Remember, I have an AMD 754 board and AGP video card, and I'm happy as all hell with it. Only problem is that my upgrade path is shorter than a pier. :D

The A8N-SLI shipped Friday.

Some of these people don't know what the hell they are talking about. If you want to buy a new system in which you will be able to upgrade to the next generation of video cards, get one that supports PCIe. Most of these boards will be available the 29th. If you want to pay more for a version of a current gen card so that you can get AGP, and waste money on an AGP motherboard, by all means go the AGP route.

yeah the only Nforce 4 board I can find is the A8N-SLI. hmmm I could keep the PCI card till februay then get the cards for the PCX slots. more money than I wanted to spend but it will be better in the long run. rrrrrrrr I will need to think on this.

I have found info on the A8N SLI board but no actual links to buy one. got any? whats the running price?
