ARROGANT RX-7 Owners

I was talking to a friend of mine that thinks RX-7s are the greatest f-ing car on earth so I decided to browse around on the RX-7 owners club forum. Among others, I came across this thread:

Doesn't matter if they lose to a damn ricer, they still think their cars are the shyt. Amazing. In this thread: one guy gives LS1 SS's the puke emoticon when another guy posted about an LS1 BEATING him. Then they claim that the SS must've had a supercharger in order to beat the RX-7 :rolleyes: Rotary engines are overrated and so are RX-7s.

Everyone is gonna be defensive about their own car. Im sure people on this board are the same about their cars as the people on the rx7 board are about theirs. In the end, its nothing but personal preference and tastes. Yes, it is impressive for their tiny engines to go that fast, but no they are not the COOLEST cars on the planet in my opinion. Same for ours, we can get our "little" 3.8's as fast as we want, assuming we have the money. Doesnt really matter any way, just ignore them if you dont like their attitudes.

Only problem with RX-7s is they are quite possibly the most unreliable pieces of crap and biggest pains in the *** to work on! Otherwise, they ARE pretty cool. Definately quite a few fast RX-7s out there. But to say they are arrogant is ignorant yourself [img]tongue.gif[/img] LS1 owners do it, LT1 owners do it, LS2 owners will do it, V6 owners do it, 2.2 Ecotec Cavalier/Sunfire drivers do it, Honda owners do it.. In the defense of RX-7's, my beater has 131,000 miles on it, stock everything, and still runs great. If you want more respect from rx-7 owners, go to http://www.nopistons.com Granted, most there don't like piston engines, but it's more when people want to take the rotary out of an rx and replace it. They feel the car is losing it's personality. Also, it's generally accepted that rx7club is a bunch of little kids that know nothing about cars. Example is one guy put an eaton m62 on a stock n/a second gen, made some pipes for it, and was running I think 9psi on the stock internals w/ no supporting upgrades. They were all hailing him like he was a god.
If you think they're bad, just go hang out at clubsi for awhile. Most of the hate from rotary boards is towards piston engines, not cars. Take what you hear with a grain of salt, and be even less concerned with what you read on the internet

They are quite possibly one of the best handeling cars ever made. Not to mention an LS1 Swap RX7 will do pretty much low 11's.

While Camaros are overall good cars, a stock RX7 will hand an Fbody its *** on a road course.

Yeah if you can keep it in it's power band at a gazillion RPM.

The look sweet (like a C5 vette), but if I wanted a car that looked like a C5 vette, I would get a C5 vette. However, their little wankel is nifty as ****.

N/A RX-7's do not run 14's

They run high 17's mid 18's

2nd gen turbo rx7's bearly break 14's

3rd gen turbo rx7's bearly break 13's unless they are twin turbo which generally make a consistant mid to high 13 second pass.

The rotary engine is over rated, the only thing that makes it so great is the fact you can build them up cheaply blow them up and build another cheaply.

Other than that, its not that great of an engine without a turbocharger.
