Yeah, most people don't read previous posts. The fourth post down I was the first to point out that the blood squirting was intentional and related to his love of kung fu movies. Then about 6 other people said the same thing.

I am not sure I think I personally think it has something to do to with giving the image of being like an old Kung Fu anime movie... but I am not sure, I really wish someone woudl explain this!

I saw Ninja Scroll about 7 years ago and was blown away! I love that movie. Anything samurai/ninja/kung fu theater/sword play stuff I like.

Now, if you really want to understand the whole Kung Fu exploitation-type movie -- try to get your hands on an old movie called "Super Ninja" That's about these Shaolin monks who have to fight the 5 Element ninjas -- Gold, Wood, Earth, Water, and Fire. I remember watching it as a kid and loving how the ninjas would literally rip bodies apart. VERY bloody and very much what Tarantino was trying to do with his movie.

Another old favorite that I wish they didn't re-make: Zatoichi the blind swordsman. It's an old 1960's movie (actually they made about 20 sequels and numerous television shows) about the character. It's coming out this summer.

You're both correct. Just watch an old kung fu movie from the 60's. They overly exagerate everything in those movies and it's a theme that has carried over to Anime as well.

I understood the sarcasm, I actually found it quite funny...people not reading previous posts is a pet peeve of mine. I believe you and I have been in threads complaining about it before.
