They are so amazingly fixated that a new Camaro is in the makes..It mindboggling how all the clues are against them but they still think its coming and bash anybody who disagrees with them..Theres NOT 1 shred of proof a 2007 or 2008 or 5TH GEN! Camaro is coming out, yet they stand defiant.

well if u don't have hope in something then u might as well be dead. but they do have one good source who is actually providing littel shreds of evidence, Scott, Fbodyfather, Redplanet, the martian. he's pretty high up in gm and he is dropping little hints that something we all love might make an appearce at the auto show in detroit in january [img]graemlins/naughty.gif[/img]

All i have to say in this conversation is that not a single public person knows what GM is doing. Sure, they could be putting if off just like it seems. but, if they were going to come out with one, do you guys think they would tell the public? hell no, the public wont know until that car rolls onto the detroit show stage. Making a good car is like sex....if others are watching and pressuring you, it just wont be as good. (might i note this is for some people. others like James would enjoy it) :D

Like hardly any of them are going to buy it. Thats what makes me sick...all of these people are whining they want the precious f-body back, yet I bet 1 in 5 will actually buy a NEW one and help GM out.

Probably going to be like the GTO. If GM would have called it the G8 or something like that, they probably wouldn't have been able to keep it on the lots. It will probably be some "abomination" and be a cop out for people not to buy it.

I dont believe the Camaro will make a comeback, I dont want it to either. It went out on top, and let it stay that way.

Chevy Camaro Concept Slated for '06 Detroit Show, '09 Debut

DETROIT — Chevrolet plans to take the wraps off a concept Camaro at the 2006 Detroit auto show in January.

Also, Inside Line has learned the automaker is evaluating proposals to revive the classic performance-car nameplate in 2009-2010 on a new low-cost rear-wheel-drive platform.

Among the scenarios under discussion inside General Motors is the development of a lower-cost version of the Sigma rear-drive platform that underpins the Cadillac CTS and STS sedans. Another proposal would take the new rear-drive platform that's being developed in Australia for the next-generation Holden Commodore sedan and spin off a low-cost variant for North America.

GM planners are said to have targeted several body styles for the Chevy and Pontiac brands on a new rear-drive platform, including a sport sedan, a sporty coupe and a convertible. The Camaro and GTO badges could be used on those vehicles, according to company sources.

Across town, Chrysler is said to be preparing a concept Dodge Challenger for the '06 Detroit show, to test the market for a proposed two-door performance car it wants to introduce around 2008-2009 as a potential competitor to the Ford Mustang.

What this means to you: Guess it was just a matter of time and environmental awareness — the original definition of muscle cars doesn't fit well with new perceptions of what's best for the world...could there be a "green" muscle car in our future?

^^^^^^ x2. Camaro is NOT coming out :( and please don't say it is. Keep your hopes up for a new or used corvette (at least thats what i have in mind)

That 'new camaro' concept picture is from a 3d site. It's not from GM or anything of the sort. It's just a guy that wanted to make a Camaro version of the new Mustangs.

I've seen it several places as well.

Personally, my take is if they're going to bring it back, that thing better kick some balls. No sense in coming back if it's not going to blow away the competition.

I definitely think that GM isn't going to let anyone know about it one way or another. I think they're going to try it if they can, but one thing is for sure: it should top the design of the fourth gen and NOT be retro. If they build some retro piece of **** trying to copy the new Mustang then there's no chance in hell I would ever buy one.

Hell, they probably won't even tell the public after it's released, just like with the GTO. I've maybe 3 commercials for the GTO :rolleyes: . The wonderful mareketing department of GM. Whoever's running that department needs to take their head out of their *** and do their job.
