I need some help with this one...

A while ago I posted a thread if I should keep the 2004 Vette or sell it and get a 97 Viper GTS..

Most of you said keep the Vette, so I did...

But now is another hard decision...

For starters Im getting a check for 6,300 dollars from the IRS in a week or so for 30 grand they taxed me on for a work related injury compensation pay that they werent supposed to tax me on.

In addittion to that 6,300 I have saved 1,700..

So I have 8,000 to play with.

I had origionaly told my wife she could have 4 grand and I could have the other 4 grand...

I was gonna use my 4 grand to do a Lou goggilotti Header X pipe no cat kit and a borla doulble stinger kit..

About 3 grand for everything installed and would take my HP from 351 rwhp to around 385 rwhp..

This would also take my 1/4 mile from around 12.9 at 108 mph to 12.6 at 111 mph...

AND THE SOUND WOULD BE AMAZING.....

And Id still have 5 grand left over between me and the wife....

    But then I thought...

Man for 3 grand Im only gaining like 3 tenths..

So I started thinking about heads and cams..I can do a AFR 205cc heads and 228 cam combo that would put me from my current 351 rwhp to around 415 rwhp..

My 1/4 mile should go from 12.9 at 108 mph to a 12.3 at 114 mph...

The heads cam and install is gonna cost me 4 grand...

Leaving my wife 4 grand to save or whatever she intends to do...

So I had my heart set on that BUT THEN...

I discovered that there are procharger intercooled superchargers on sale for 5,000....

The procharger would take my power from it's current 351 rwhp to 500 rwhp with 8 pounds of boost...

My current 12.9 at 108 mph would be 11.4 at 123 mph...

    After

    Sorry my computer tuned off...

After the parts and install Im looking at 6,000 for the procharger set up...

Meaning Im gonna have to take 2 grand from my wife....

She's gonna be PISSED if I do it!!!!

Especialy since I blew up the powerdyned v6 camaro thinking I was Willie Wonka and the never ending boost factory....

Im just nt sure what to do...

I love the idea of haing a 2004 coupe that has a Z06 enine ( thats already been done) and a procharger....

But 6 grand is a LOT OF FRIGGING MONEY....

For 6 grand I could put a beautiful tile floor through mu hole house and have the wife love me forever...

    What would you do?

Maybe save it for later? You seem to blow your money as soon as you get it.

Eric has a very good point when it comes to investment. my mom has been in a rented house for 4 years so we know alittle about the business and thats were its at.

whatever you do, dont keep more of the money than you said you would. bad mistake to take that from your wife.

Not car related, but if you're thinking about the tiled floor you're probably not doing it for six grand unless you do it yourself. Our house was closer to twenty grand to tile everything but the kitchen and bathrooms with materials included, and that was the lowest bid we got by a lot.

Never said it was no object.....Just on the high side of average maybe...

I just called A and A prochargers and they said they could send me the head unit, mounting bracket...Serpentine belt and pullies for a 5 pound set up as well as injectors for only $3500...

About 1500 cheaper...But Id be non intercooled and have to do the piping my self...(EASY)

So I ran the 3,500 by the wife and she said it's kool but if I do it I cant get a 2005 Z06 or (what she wants) a 2005 Viper 2 years from now when are Navigator is paid off...

I was so happy when I found out I could get 5 pounds of boost (roughly 100 rwhp) for only 3500...Then she ruined it by saying somthing like that...

Now Im scared that if I dont do it she may just be bluffing and isnt really even gonna get me a Z06 or Viper in a year or two...

But what if she really is planning to get it...

A supercharged C5 is awesome but still beneath a 2005 Z06 or 2005 Viper in my eyes...

Man this sucks....That 5 pounds of nonintercooled boost will easily give me 500-550 crank HP....

And I can have it soon....

But Ill be so jeolous when some one in a 505 NA Z06 rolls buy...

I HOPE IM NOT SHOOTING MY SELF IN THE FOOT HERE..

But I think Im gonna get the parts for 3,500 and do the piping my self...

I did the piping for the intercooled powerdyne pics in my sig and it turned out pretty good..

Then if my wife really wants to sell in two years to get the Z06 or Viper I can just sell the car for more since it's supercharged or just sell the kit seperatly..
