theres no legality to go through...not like the christian church pays a yearly fee to practise in the US..just start a cult and acheive tax exempt status like david blane does in that one episode of south park..and if the government doesn't grant you tax exempt status then drown your followers in that lake thing infront of the washington monument until you get exemption

Look up Internal Revenue Code sections 501(c)(3) and 501(a)(9).

Hey, if L. Ron Hubbard can do it, you can too.

                  Wanna hear something funny?

A couple of years ago we had the UK Census. This is taken once every ten years.
There was an e-mail sent round encouraging people to put 'Jedi' under 'Other Religion'

So many people did this - including me!

Looking forward to the next one, only to see if it made the list of 'Officially recognised' religions

Yeah, Scientology owns... any religion that you pay your way closer to God must be right, right?

No no, I've started a lot already, figured a religion would be a nice thing to add.

You should form a cult of devout bigots who will stop at nothing to win their way into the control of the government, all the way from the judicial branch to the executive branch, and take over the united states, forcing your theology down the throats of Athiests everywhere.

Whoa. Wait a second. If you can do all of the things MINUS the above things, you will be one of the only religions in this country that can say they don't do the above :D
