• Is it just around here or all ER's take forever

Tonight I had to go to the ER for stitches because I am dumb and slipped with a knife at work. It took 4 hours before I was seen I wasn't in bad shape and I am young so I didn't really mind what got me were all the lil kids sitting there waiting and the older people I unno just made me mad how long they had to sit there.Isn't the point of an ER to get taken care of ASAP.

Thing about ER's is that they will label you in order of importance. Usually cutting your finger doesn't constitute as a DIRE emergency. I have been in the ER 15 times in 6 months, all for the same thing. Ususally they label me URGENT, only because there are major problems within 4 hours of my "problem". Although I do my fair share of waiting at the hospital. Longest I ever had to wait was 3 hours.

There are a lot of times that people come into the ER that have absolutely nothing wrong with them at all. Lots are drug addicts, wanting to make something up for some pain killers, muscle relaxers, things of that nature. Those are the people that make the waits extremely long.

i sprained my ankle pretty badly once, it swelled up like a grapefruit. i was in the ER at around 10 P.M., and I wasn't even looked at until 11:30-12. I was in agony the whole time. there were other people waiting too. I almost went nuts from watching "the brady bunch" and "gidget" on TV Land.

Um...let's see. I had a snowboarding accident, and I "thought" I fractured my tailbone, dislocated my hip, and ruptured some disks, as well as vertebrae problems. I couldn't bend over, I couldn't get up from sitting down, I could barely drive home. I waited at around 11pm in the hospitol and didn't get seen til 1:30am. I was screaming and yelling at the F'in people because I had no clue what was going on with my body. Plus the fact that more damage could've been done from me sitting in one place for a long period of time. I gave THEM a few words. Turned out though I just bruised my hip and fractured a vertebrae. Still though, I was PISSED!

When your appendix is on the verge of exploding, they treat you real fast in the ER I got in there at 5am and hours later I was on the operating table being told to count down from 10.

They go by importance of injury... My girl got violently sick to start vomiting blood out of nowhere, we still waited like 3 hours, People in front of us... the pregnant lady with blood running down her legs had more importance, guy fell off a ladder trimming a tree with a pruning saw andhada DEEP cut, cuz I think he landed onthe saw, and it was cut into his arm and chest. And other stuff with old people.

Back in February I was riding mountain bikes with my girlfriends son in Starkey park and out of nowhere I flip off the front, and slid down the road...from a friggin mtn bike. I dont remember anything from that night until this day except for when I was waiting in the ER, cut and covered in blood, I couldnt even walk cuz I f'd up my knee and my ribs hurt so bad I thought I broke some which only turned out to be bruised. I waited in the waiting room for 6 hours and in the bed for 2 hours between x rays and being checked. They offered to clean my wounds but by that time I was back in reality and was tired of waiting so I left and cleaned them myself
