where i live, we get pamphlets and brochures in our house doors and on our car's windshield wipers all the time. we get swarmed with it during elections. i got this one day:

Are you aware of why some people don't vote?? Not all non-voters are lazy. Some of us would rather not choose how we get f***ed over, because either which way, we are getting f***ed over. You asking me to vote is basically asking me whether I want Vaseline or KY. They are both lubricating, and its still going to end up my ***.

You have a democrat and a republican both going for the White House, saying the SAME ****, the EXACT SAME ****. How could you choose?? Honestly? I simply don't see a difference in either candidate. And if I don't vote for either one of them, and vote for the third party, then I know my choice will mean nothing. And lets not play the game of "what if", I vote for Nader, and I know that I will have lost. Nader will not get into office, the whole political structure within this country is for a two party system, so the third party candidate will not win, because the Republican and Democrat parties have a distinct and definitive edge in this election. I got a question, where was the other candidates in the debates? I'll let you think about that one, then you can respond, and it better be something better than what speedy-v6-camaro said.

I also believe that those who are straight party voters do just as much harm. What's worse. Someone who does the research, and decides not to vote, or some jackass who takes out his pen and votes all Democrat, or all Republican?

I won't disagree with you on people voting straight party. You should vote for the person who you think will benefit the country the best. It's not always your party who's got the best man running.

Voting is a something that should not be taken for granted! Things could be a lot worse.

Wow, your posts get more entertaining as the year goes on. If you don't want to vote and don't agree with the way the country is run then do something about it. Here's a few suggestions... Run for public office, get involved some way or another in any party of your liking, OR you could just get the hell out of America if you're getting screwed over so bad. No one is making you stay. Do not take me as one of the mindless individuals on this board. If you can honestly tell me any siginificant difference between these two candidates "ideas for the future", please tell me. And I do mean significant. Picking away at some minute little difference won't mean **** to me, because the only ideas these candidates have that will see the light of day are the ones that matter, and the ones that are of most concern. And those are the ideas in which will steer this country, and these ideas are the ones that sound the same between both candidates.

And BTW, I have a question to leave you with, WHY DO WE STILL HAVE AN ELECTORAL COLLEGE??????
