How Much Is This Worth?

Ok guys, I know this is a far-stretch from normal post, but I need to know what F-Body experts think on this.

I have a black 1999 Pontiac Firebird. V6 model. It has 69,088 miles on it.

Options are black leather (pwr/manual), five speed, chrome rims, and minor other things.

I cannot afford this car any longer. I'm 18 and going off to college and it's simply not an option for the Minnesota winter, and it's not right to make a car this beautiful sit in a garage for most of the year.

I have no idea how much to ask for this car. I've seen others with similar milage, but none have been less than 10-12,000.

How much do you recommend I put the price at it, and after that, what is the max I should take haggling down to?

the 10 - 12k are from dealers right?? private party maybe somewhere from 8k - 9k. im not 100%, but im pretty sure. Someone chime in if i am wrong

I checked AutoTrader.com (because there are NEVER Firebirds selling here, dealer or private), and I saw 98-00's being sold for about 9-12ish with similar miles and similar options.

I dont want to start too high that I dont get any takers, but I dont want to give the car away; this is my baby.

My mom wants me to start it at 10,000, but is that too much for the car I described in my first post?

I just went on Edmunds.com and it said private party for your car is about 6800. Edmunds
So going by that put it up for like 7200 or something so if they try to barging you down you get what you should for it. Then again, the bigger question is how much do you still owe on it?

Man, that's disheartening...I was hoping I could get more than that for it.

yeah im lookin at 1999 Z28s for 11k with similar mileage to you. but hey if you can get someone to pay 10k more power to you.

Aside from the fact of the few experts out there, or those smart enough to question too much the price, do you think I'd get any bites if I listed it on autotrader (or, do any of you knwo of a better car selling site)?

I dont want to make some overpay too much, but you know the game.

Man I hear yah mines I 98 camaro that been smashed up and repaired so prolly get 5 for mine when it work like 6200 I think. I only have 61000 miles on it. I also bought mine for 11,000 in 02.

V6 F-body market is real hard nowadays, The only V6's really selling are ones under 5k that kids buy. Everything else people are just picking up Z28s and Trans ams becuase they are so cheap. Good luck selling it, i wouldnt expect more thna 7k though if you want to sell it quick. You could list it at 10-12k but it will sit there for 12-18months, sure you will get some calls but noone will buy{You know those people, the cars you see in autotrader and your like "Hey, that cars been in there for like 2 years"}

I'd like to see a pic of your car. Also you have the option of stashing the car only for the winter and taking it out only for the summer. I did that route when I purchased my Trans Am long ago and still dont regret selling it. But if you must sell, post a pic. Someone will be definitely interested in your car and give you a decent offer.

i would rather get a z28 for 10k you would be lucky to get 8K for your 6 year old car and I think that would be alot

A 1999 V6 Firebird would go for around $7000-$8500 in our area.
