just go to court plead guilty. since its your first ticket you probably wont lose your liscense. when i was younger i got a ticket(ill keep the speeds and where disclosed) i pleaded guilty and the judge came in, told me to slow down, dropped the ticket (150bucks) to paying court fees(alot less than the ticket).

half of everyone I know who got their first ticket while under 18 DID lose their license - for going 30 over, I'll bet that he DOES lose his license.

The judge for juvenile traffic offenses is pretty tough. This girl in my school got caught speeding think she was doing 79MPH. I think she got her license suspended for 90days. Another girl ran a stop sign and got an illegal exhaust ticket in her integra at same time. She got hers suspended.

Now tommorow im going to the best lawyer in town. This lawyer has gotten my cousin off of 2 100MPH+ speeding tickets. Hes also gotten my other friend off of Spinning Wheels wreckless driving and nitrous charges and crap. It will probably cost me 500 bucks for the lawyer...

That sucks. I got a ticket 3 weeks ago for 85 in a 65. Thank god the cop was real nice and didn't write it for the 100 I was doing. Parent's took the car away until I took care of the ticket and stuck me in the Taurus. I paid $125 for traffic school the next weekend and the ticket never goes on my record. There's no traffic school there? In AZ you can do it every 2 years. No insurance/court BS, and maybe I'll get my luck back for the next 2 years ;) Was also half as much as the ticket would have been. I believe it's about $13/mph over here. I'm not saying what I did wasn't wrong, I know it was. What sucks is since I got the bird in Dec' I've only done 100 in it 3 times and the time I was trying to make my curfew I got caught :( . I was 2 miles from my house and would have made it too. Little advice, don't do anything that will risk getting pulled over in the dark where you won't see cops coming ;) The officer was nice though and I did my best to be polite and not piss him off. He asked me how my driving record was and I told him spotless. He told me he'll give me a big break and not cite me for criminal speeding (20+ over), which my cousin got taken to jail 3 weeks ago for a half hour for. He wasn't as lucky. The other thing I can be glad about was that he saw me in the 65 zone and not the 55 4 miles earlier.

Anyways, about the parents. I got home about 15 minutes late after that and my mom heard me and got up of course. I hand her the paper and she got her glasses and turns on the light to read it. 10 minutes later my dad comes in and I get an hour and a half lecture. They took away my car until I got the ticket finished and of course cut my curfew back 2 hours. A week after I got the car back it's up to 11 again but I still want my 12:00 fridays and saturdays :(

I would have to agree with mogobs with most of those. And while I don't know the radar laws, it's probably a good idea to ask to see it but I wouldn't give the cop a hard time. Neither of you want to be sitting on the side of the road arguing and in my case he would have just taken the ticket back and wrote me up for the 100.

Most of the cops I've seen here are really nice and they hand out plenty of warnings and dont write you up for the little BS things like exhaust. I know for a fact there are a few butthead ones (mostly cycle cops) that love to show their power though. There is a SWAT motorcop here that everyone loooves to b.ch about ;)

not sure if ti wsa mentioned another thing that I always thought helped me out whenever I had courtdates for tickets.

dress nice, like some dockers and a tucked in polo shirt or something. Sounds gay but you end up looking like a little angel compared to the average person at the courthouse. Especially "Juvenile court"

I got a ticket in a small town once about hour away I drove there got there early the place was opening up, some old dude was messing with some doors near me I went over and helped him out...

old duded ended up being my judge. Ruled in favor of me over the cop THAT DID SHOW UP.

btw I always hear people say the cop won't show up I have had the cop show up to every court date, only time a cop didn't show up is after he dealt with my lawyer on 3 occasions before I showed up to a courtdate.

                        How about.... slow down?

Maybe this may teach you to drive slower.

Im meeting with my lawyer Friday at 3:30. My dad has used this lawyer before. Lawyer did not win my dad's case and gave him half of his money back. This lawyer is pretty good. My car is going to get calibrated as well this weekend.

The bad part is he upped his prices by 100 dollars. So its 600 for the lawyer..30 for callibration. This is already getting expensive. Considering i only make $250 every 2 weeks.
