ok so my buddy introduces me to this finnish metal band called "Children of Bodom" and they friggin rock - literally... im starting to enjoy the more advanced metal and guitar stuff... like when you listen you are like "that riff is soooo badass you have to be HELLLLLLLAAA good to play IT!!!" where their stuff is so insanely fast/skillful THATs what makes good music to me... anyways, i was looking around for some other artists and i came upon a band called NightWish, also from overseas. anyways... get this - its heavy metal......OPERA!!! yea thats right sounds gay doesnt it....well its not, in fact it disgustingly good..... download these songs from them and you will know what i mean... two best songs from their new album IMHO are "Dark Chest of Wonders" and "Planet Hell"

I agree with you totally echo. I've been listening to bodom for years and nightwish for a few months. There's nothing better to play on guitar than some swedish/finnish metal. I'm still having trouble learning some bodom solo's.

Last tuesday bodom came to orlando, and i ended up meeting up with the guitarist/lead vocals alexi laiho at the house of blues bar after they played and we talked guitar for a while. He actually knows pretty good english. They're one of my favorite bands and he is definitely my favorite guitarist so it was pretty damn cool. He gave me some tips on his sweeping solo's ;) .

bodom rocks, they've been around for a while, another real good band is As I Lay Dying, and a song called 94 hours...

Bodom has been around quite some time. They play rediculously fast. Interesting band, Alex Laiho deserves to be in a L'Oreal commerical but still a good band.

Nightwish is awsome, i enjoy the music, have you heard of Rhapsody, there also pretty good. When i play it in my car from time to time ppl look at me funny [img]smile.gif[/img] , but dont bother me none.
