9mm is last resort... I have nowhere to retreat, I'm in my own home, after all. I don't want to kill anyone and I don't want to go to jail, but I cannot let a stranger beat me up in my own house.

Also, the only reason I will pull out a gun is if I'm 100% intending on using it. Only as the last resort. Who knows what kind of twisted f*ck this sh*thead is.

I agree with everyone else file a report. Ask your mom who the guy was and say you noticed something leaking from his car or something trival or you wanted to ask him a man question. Just talk to your mom like nothings wrong you might get more out of her than you think. Anyway take his name down to the station then chill ar a friends house for a couple of days to let the sh*t cool down. Plus not being home will make it look like you really were scared for your life.

ok, thnx, I re-evaulated things and I cooled off on whole gun thing.

I'm not small myself, work out regulary and got some friends who will back me up if what. Lethal weapon will be avoided, unless it's life-death situation.

If your dad has an extremely bad tmeper (like he would do something serious and stupid) tell him now... the space and time might be a good things and hlp give him a chance to cool off...

If you don't intend on using a gun (which you shouldn't) then what is the problem with leaving it with a friend (or two) worst case scenerio you are preventing this ******* from using it on you...

File the complaint.. threats (even empty ones) need to be noted, esp if they might help you in the future

ok about the whole gun issue I'm gonna say keep it because there is the possibility that you may have to use it. This guy has already threatend to kill you and you don't know what he's capable of. However that being said be responsible with it. Don't pull your gun on him unless you have to. Also you need to know that if the situation warrants it and you do pull your gun be prepared to kill him. If you can't do that then please get rid of your gun. I say this because this goes for any person that has a gun for personal protection. If your life is in danger and you pull that gun but aren't able to use it you've only endangered your life even more. You know your dad better than we do so I would say if he would need time to cool down then tell him now while he's out of the country.

Sh*tty situation. I realize that we aren't the ones facing this first hand and its hard to give advice because I don't think many of us know exactly what we would actually do. However I will offer a bit of advice.

I think that if you're 21 you're MORE then old enough to move out of your parent’s house and get an apartment. If your Mom is so blatant and obviously doesn't care that much about being in the house with both you and the guy she’s sleeping with... your family is obviously not the strongest and there had to have been issues in the past. Stuff like this just doesn't happen to good strong loving families. Separate yourself from this before it all comes crashing down.

I think if I were placed in this situation I would call my Mom out in front of the other guy and ask why she is sleeping around when Dad is overseas. I wouldn't even THINK about using a gun to get your point across. Ian offered great advice when he said to get the gun out of your house. The last thing you want is something happening where you OR the other guy has access to your gun. There are already tons of sparks going off in the house... no need to have a barrel of gunpowder lying around. It will only end badly.

Also... this thread has some of the WORSE advice possible. It just proves that there are tons extremely immature kiddies in this board.

You cant control your mom's life or her actions. And its probably bad of me to say it, but its not 'your' house... its your moms and dads. I would attempt to talk to your mom as calm and maturely as possible. Tell her you are uncofortable with what is going on in the house and you need to distance yourself from it. I would strongly suggest moving out on your own or in with a friend. At the very least for the short term until things stabilize or an understanding is made.
As far as filing a report, I dont know what you said to the guy before he retorted. Did you threaten him first? If you need help, go to the local police station and even if you dont file a report, they can direct you to somebody to give you better advice than we can.... family counseling or something.
Im sure its an incredible shock and hard to deal with, but you seem to be doing pretty well considering. Good luck.

I've seen my mom cheat on my dad 5 count them 5 times, yet they are still together. the tension is always there, my dad can never trust my mom again which makes her miserable and him also.

yes, my parents are still together. But the BEST thing in this world would be for them to get a divorce. my mom actually ran away with some dude she met off the internet in WYOMING!! I hate what my mom did to my family... especially my little brother whom i raised. I love her because she is my mother... but i hate her in a sense. I will never have a relationship with her... like i used to have before i saw what she did behind my dads back. It's a terrible feeling i know EXACTLY how you feel with the anger and everything baby... and it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.

Tell your dad everything, i mean EVERYTHING. Let your dad get the hell out and let him take you with him. Your mom has no respect for the people which she should have unconditional love for. If he threatens you again make a complaint, and file a Peace order... guess what he can't come to your residence he can't even come within 60 feet or so of you. BAM there goes mommy's little fantasy. But, for everything holy... please tell your dad. call him RIGHT NOW and tell him. Make him come home unexpectedly and catch her in the act. I know you love your mom and it's hard as hell to do..but she's shown her respect level for you, show her yours.

Actually I have done the one involving mechanic knowledge. Back in high school a guy got pissed at me cuz his girlfriend dumped him for me. I was walking through the locker room door in the gym and was immediately hit with a cheap shot towel-pop to the eyes, and wound up getting my a$$ kicked (what do you expect? I couldn't see!).
And if that wasn't bad enough, the bastard keyed my car.
Anyway, he was a trusting fool who left his car doors unlocked, so I kindly replaced his motor oil with about 4 to 4 1/2 quarts of premium Log Cabin waffle syrup...... [img]graemlins/rofl.gif[/img] Needless to say, he didn't make it very far. I guess I shoulda used Aunt Jemima....

But as far as the gun thing goes, put that sh*t away. Guns are for pansies who are scared they might get their a$$ kicked IMO. Any fool can shoot someone. Some have even been dumb enough to shoot themselves cleaning their guns lol Besides, any time a confrontation occurs, don't pull out a weapon you can't defend against if the other guy gets ahold of it.
