          Uses an electric solenoid to open/close the valve, controlled by a computer. ;)

              Mercedes has been selling an engine with this valvetrain for a couple years now, same electronic valves, and no throttle as well - the valve lift and timing are infinitely variable. Supposed to gain 10% power/efficiency.

              This though is the first time I've heard of a forced induction version - probably had to make the acutators a little beefier to seal against the pressure.

                  can u imagine the maintenance for something like that???? it would be a major PITA when one or more of the solenoids crap out
