I guess this sort of counts:
I was walking across the street at the University of Florida when a car came around a corner quickly and hit me. I was thrown quite a ways. I ended up with my right leg broken in several spots, a cracked hip, a concussion, stitches on my head and arm and numerous lacerations.
While the paramedics were treating me at the scene, I kept trying to walk away, saying "It is just a few scratches; c'mon, let me go." The paramedics finally convinced me that I should not walk on a leg that has a shattered tibia and fibula.
I ended up in the hospital.
