heres what you do
hoping the guy who has it has insurance
get your vin number...

call up the major insurance companies asking for quotes on that vin number

if u tell someone the vin and they dont respond like " um sir that car is already registered with us" or something..... then just hang up

do it till u find out who its registered with

then hang up

call back again to the one who said its on thiers, and be like yes i dont know my account number or anything because my son or his ex wife is the one who set it up for me. If I give you a vin number can you look it up? They will look it up with the vin. and then say Did my son or his ex wife set it up... They will say the name of the person... copy the name down, if u can get any more info then do so... then hang up

Got the carfax! It doesn't say specifically who it is titled to, but it gives me the town, so I can call the DMV.
