What do you guys think about this situation?

I purchased a Torsen LSD off of CamaroZ28.com 11/15/05, it took until mid December for the seller to ship it, and I finally received it a month and a half after the payment was sent. He stated it was a “3 series posi unit from a 2002 Formula”. After I received it I looked up the part number on the side of the Torsen (9032) which means it’s a Series 2 Carrier. He also left the Ring Gear still attached to the unit, and the Ring Gear had these numbers 15x41 printed on the side which also proves the car he removed it from had 2.73 gears (2 Series Carrier). On top of that it was missing the famous “missing parts” Block & Pin, and he said I was lying about the missing parts, and that I was lying about it being a Series 2. I asked for a refund for 2 weeks and explained over and over why I wanted the refund, he finally refunded my money and I sent the Torsen back to him the day after he refunded my money. Last night at 11:30 pm he emails me saying “Is this some kind of joke”, and “the spider gears are chipped and broken”, and “the housing is cracked”, and “the Ring Gear is missing teeth”, and stuff like that. I can’t put everything he said in the email because he swore a lot. He said that he is going to have PayPal get his $144 back directly from our bank account because I sent him his Torsen back completely destroyed. I shipped the Torsen to him at my Mom’s Work threw her Shipping Department, and they boxed it up really nice and shipped it to him the same day. I kept my cool threw all of this mess, but now I DONE! Why is he doing this to me? My arms are starting to shake because he is making me so MAD, but I have to keep my cool. What do you guys think of all this?

i think the guys a dick and unfortunately thats how some people are. i'd contact paypal directly and explain to them the situation. unless you have pictures/witnesses its pretty much his word against urs, as far as the law goes. i'd make him provide pics of the broken parts, cuz its pretty hard to convincingly destroy that kinda stuff, especially if you wrote down the serial numbers so he wouldnt be able to switch it. be cool tho dude, really, i know it sucks but getting flustered does nothing for you. if ya need an outlet, go running or hit a punchingbag or sumthing to get sum of that energy out. and be cool w/ the people at paypal, cuz if he rants and raves at them and ur calm, it'll sound like ur the more mature and reliable one. worst case scenario, its 144 bucks. sometimes life may kick ya in da balls, but hey, 144 is alot of money but not that much. i indirectly know several people who've gotten screwed outta alot more. and i'm sure if you've gone to a titty bar even once in ur life you've proably blown 2/3 of that at LEAST on one night. (tehe!)

oh, and by alot more i mean ALOT. actually come to think of it, my dad when he wanted to finish his basement, he paid like 15 grand up front for this guy to start work on it. well, a week into the job, the guy like assaulted his gf or sumthing and took off running from the po-po with the money after only really doing 3 or 4 grand worth of work. maybe not even that.

About getting screwed, my Dad's Sister stole $40,000 from us and a House. I know about the word "screwed". LOL ;)

As long as you get your money out of PayPal, you should be OK.

They can't just go into your personal savings account and withdraw money anytime they want to.

Sadly, that's not true. It has happened before and could very well happen here. This is one of the reasons I cancelled my paypal account and will never open another one. I urge everyone to do some reading and consider getting rid of paypal!

I think:

It's risky to do business with strangers on the Net unless you have adequate info that they're good people to do business with.

You're doing yourself damage by hanging on to your upset. Nothing you can do is likely to make a difference. Move on. I don't know anything about Paypal, I'd never use it.

what a jerkoff. He is just trying to rip you off and get both the money and the part he originially sent. Tell paypal about this and also warn everyone on the forums about who he is, if he has his own business he could get shut down for doing this type of business.

8 years ago we were moving to Florida from Cleveland, Ohio, and she put $39,000 on a house for us. We gave her $40,000 in return, and she was to sign the house over to us. Well she didn’t. She kept the house and the $40,000. It took us 3 years in court, $20,000 in Court & Lawyer fees, PLUS another $11,000 for her to finally sign the house over to us. Plus my Dad had a Heart Attack because of all the stress. He also has Diabetes, Psoriasis on 75% of his body, and severe Arthritis. That’s why I hate it when people try to rip us off.

Same thing happened to me with the 40,000 and a house..
when my grandmother died,. she split everything between her two kids..
and my aunt and my dad were supposed to split all of the property, money and everything else.
well it was a big farm, and they owned a dealership selling farm equipment, so she actually ripped him off in the deal by 60-80k dollars by paying off her lawyer in the appraisal
