Does anyone know how to make an mp3 cd?

Put in a cd-r or cd-rw into your cd burner. Drag and drop files to the cd burner drive on My Computer in windows xp. Select burn data cd.

Or use roxio or Nero to burn it.

on an "audio cd" in nero you can only have 80 min.But MP3 disc shows 800mb.

b/c the file it needs to be converted too to play on a normal CD player is bigger than an MP3.

MP3 cd will have more songs than a normal cd b/c the MP3 file is smaller than tha cdda file.

but both hold the same amount of mbs

cd audio is a fixed data rate, so for any given amount of space, you'll know exactly how many minutes fit in said space. MP3s can have MANY different data rates, so most people rely on the MP3's physical size (data) rather than song length.

Example: an MP3 of the same song would always have the same length, no matter the data rate it was converted to. However, that same song recorded at 96bps will be smaller than one recorded at 128bps. Get it? ;) There's a lot of other factors that come into play, but that's the short and long of it.

Rough conversion factors that I've found over time:

128bps MP3's 1 Minute = 1.33MB
WAV (basically your CD format) 1 Minute = 9 MB

What software do yaull use to convert wma files to mp3? All the ones on download.com want u to buy them.

I just recently built my new computer and threw a cdrw in it. So im new at burning cds. Thats why i disapeered so long my old computer broke. Took awhile to save up to build this one ;p.

Search for "Cheetah" converter at download.com Its freeware and it converts WMA's directly. Or you could record them as wav and then convert to mp3

I wish my headunit could play dvd-r :(

But 8.5 gb will get used up quicker than you think. I can usually only cram about 150 songs on a standard cd-r.

to burn a cd pf MP3s just burn it as a data cd. the regular way, like you were burning anything other than a music cd. In a burner such as nero it wont try to automatically convert the mp3 into wav for you
