• Hurricane Ivan Visits Pittsburgh

I know its not nearly as severe as the damage done to the coasts during hurricane season, but its not everyday... or every decade that western PA sees weather like this.

Yes, they did launch rescue boats from the end of my street.

It neaver ceases to amaze me the people that think they can plow through 4 feet of water in their SUV or this.

yes, these are the links to the rescue boats checking in on the abandoned Ferrarri.

About a half hour later, a log crashed into the poor car and it picked up and floated about 100yards down the river....err, road and lodged up against a tree. Saddest part is, the car didnt even have its permanent plates yet... it still had the temporary tags!!

The Chevy Dealership didnt make out too well either. My wife is indiacating the water level against this Suburban. Here is the PRICETAG.

Unfortunately, this F-body didnt survive either.

Owner never returned to get it out of the parking lot before the water came up. Currents washed it up onto the curb.

dang... I had a Cat 1 hurricane blowing outside for ~24 hours, dropped ~20 in of rain, when curfew was lifted, and I went to get some food then work, not one street even had abnormally big puddles, yet alone flooding.

Was Ivan still a tropical storm when it hit you? Or a Tropical Depression?

Makes you feel any better, I was gonna work on my car last night but couldn;'t because the remnants of Ivan were raining outside.

I think they had downgraded it to a tropical depression. If we had been 20 minutes later getting home, we wouldnt have made it. water rose about 2 feet an hour between 6 and 9 o'clock.

It hit my area very hard as well. Lehigh Valley, PA.

This is my cousins neighbor's house. It went like 5 miles down the river in one piece until it hit a bridge which ripped it apart.

This is the city of Easton, this is the bridge the house hit.

Yea, you should see the aireals of Harrisburg. Friggin raised expressways under water.

Shippensburg got hit pretty hard, im suprised. Lots of flooded out roads, and when i left to go to the track Sat morning there was some guy picking up his porch off of the street.....the whole porch.

                  Me......i was drinking.
