I know its not nearly as severe as the damage done to the coasts during hurricane season, but its not everyday... or every decade that western PA sees weather like this.
Yes, they did launch rescue boats from the end of my street.
It neaver ceases to amaze me the people that think they can plow through 4 feet of water in their SUV or this.

About a half hour later, a log crashed into the poor car and it picked up and floated about 100yards down the river....err, road and lodged up against a tree. Saddest part is, the car didnt even have its permanent plates yet... it still had the temporary tags!!
The Chevy Dealership didnt make out too well either. My wife is indiacating the water level against this Suburban. Here is the PRICETAG.
Unfortunately, this F-body didnt survive either.

Owner never returned to get it out of the parking lot before the water came up. Currents washed it up onto the curb.
