http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/6...y/default.mspx

  this is where it all starts every game maker is waiting on this release to start making games in 64 bit.....

Windows XP Professional x64 Edition will currently support up to 128 gigabytes (GB) of RAM and 16 terabytes of virtual memory, enabling applications to run faster when working with large data sets. Applications can preload substantially more data into virtual memory, allowing rapid access by the 64-bit processor.
the current windows in only 4GB max

many of the leading companys have 64 bit drivers out already and the other are working on them.... many divers will be included in the windows cd release

Wow thats cool that its a free upgrade for pro users already! Too bad I refuse to buy AMD unless they run Intel out of business. I'll stick with my 32bit P4 for another year before I upgrade, hopefully intel will have x64 available to the end user like AMD does by then.

AMD>intel

only thing is intel and AMD will not be the same 2 different windows will be for the chips.... so that mean games are going to have to make 2 one for AMD and one for Inslow users

Easy way to blue screen. Use a USB ethernet connector. Knock it lose while tranferring data on the network. BOOM, blue screen.

Don't stop the USB device properly and remove.... BOOM blue screen.

Darn. Looks like its time to drop the coin on a amd 64. They werent worth the price tag until the os makes use of it the way it should.

I was going off of what Microsoft told us at the last meeting I attended at work. and the rep said they didnt have a compiled list of 3rd party apps that would support 64-bit. but you're right, I cant wait for games to support it!!!!!
