I must admit, when I saw the article, I thought to myself, how in the world do they expect to compete against the 500HP C6 ZO6? Haven't really looked too much into the Mustangs (particularly because I'm not to fond of them), but figured there woulda been at least some sort of competition for the new vette. Oh well.

that SVT Sport Trac looks... umm... ghey. and is that a typo or will it really have a 6-speed auto? thats like 3 sets of planetaries, that transmission is going to be MASSIVE.
It says 6-speed manual to me Anyways, anyone know why they went with 19" wheels? Do they think someone's gonna put spinners on it?

Uhh, C6 Z06 is competing against porsche, ferrari, Ford GT ect.
The Mustang is competing against, the chevy...wait...oh yea nothing from GM. The closest would maybe be the GTO. Or maybe the V series Caddy's. The mustang is a muscle car, the Z06 is basically a supercar.

yah but the fact that the 500 hp cobra is supercharged just gives it so much potential to hit massive numbers on the dyno and im sure the track too...

450 hp cobra ;) . And yes, it compares to the vette. The first thing that comes to my head when I hear Shelby or Cobra, is massive power. Like the "enforcer" said, The GT compares to the GTO. And I bet it's gonna run around $55-$60K

It's gonna be well below $55-60K. It's supposed to go up only a small percentage of what the 03's cost, I've heard from many reliable sources that it should be about $40k for it.
This thing is a muscle car, it's not on the same level as the C6 Z06. The Z06 is meant to go fast and handle incredibly. The cobra has switched back to a solid rear, so I'd imagine that they have drag racing performance in mind with this beast. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - Ford is going in the right direction with their cars, this will be a very fast beast of a mustang.
