  • Big O Tires

I took my car in today to get the tires rotated, and when I walked up I saw them lifting the car using some lift that was just a big long flat metal thing on each side. Both fenders were pushed out in front.

I went inside and got some guy who apparently turned out to be the assistant manager, who told me that it had to be like that before and it wasn't them. He then said something about how they couldn't rotate my tires legally because the front ones were below the legal limit and tried to sell me a new set of tires. The thing is there's still good tread all the way across. He offered to fix the fender that wasn't as bad because "they could have caused that." I just said I'd go to a body shop.

It's only going to be like $50-60 to fix right being that I don't want to touch it, but I'm pissed that I didn't get anything like an apology at least, and that they denied doing it. Has anyone dealt with trying to prove that a shop did something? The guy at the body shop who fixed it the first time when the dealer bent the passenger fender said it was caused by a hoist, but I'm not sure how to get Big O to pay for it.

Like I told you man, it's all about Discount Tire Co. It's one of the best tire places I've ever worked with.

You already contacted corporate, right? If that doesn't work, threaten them legally.

Tell them that they're gonna get your thumb shoved up their big "O".

I called corporate when I got home, but it's a franchise and she said all she can do is call and tell them there was a complaint. She said I might have to take them to arbitration or small claims court if they don't fix it, so I'll probably just do small claims for the heck of it out of principle. I've never sued anyone, but I'll try it for $20 or whatever it costs to file.

I would try it, but it's not really my problem. I want Big O to take responsiblity for it.

why is everyone so quick to sue, body seams are a very common liftpoint on cars, it just so happens camaros dont like to be lifted there, its a common mistake thats fixed easily. your wasting your time by sueing a company that has any worth at all. they'll laugh at you.

                  Agreed...

As for discount tire? new stations here did a big thing on scandels here about how they were saying parts needed to be replaced that didn't need to, then not replace them.

Nobody in my family has ever sued anyone before, so it's not like I'm always quick to do it. I wouldn't have cared if the guy had just admitted that it could have been them, but telling me that it wasn't caused by a lift and that was already there is stupid.

I'll probably end up not bothering, but if I did take it to court it's just small claims, so it would only be the franchise owner against me. I don't really care if it costs more than I get back, it's just the principle of it.

It sounds like they offered to fix the fender for free. You probably should've taken up on the offer.

Do you know how many camaros are out there? They should deffinately know not to lift camaros there. They screwed his car up, why they hell shouldn't they fix it? The manager obviously was a retard and refused to acknowledge his employee screwed up his car.

The guy couldn't even really see how it happened, so there was no way I was going to let him try to figure out how to fix it. Having some tire shop employee try to fix a fender on my car isn't really an acceptable way to repair it. He offered to fix the one that wasn't as bad, so I would still have to deal with the one that's out about a half inch anyways.
