The story makes it sound like they lifted the car on the thin mounts that the fenders bolt to under the car. I've had to stop several shops from lifting there when they were doing stuff to my car. Definitely don't take responsiblity for it, they are at fault. New word of advice, always watch your car when somebody else is working on it.

why is everyone so quick to sue, body seams are a very common liftpoint on cars, it just so happens camaros dont like to be lifted there, its a common mistake thats fixed easily. your wasting your time by sueing a company that has any worth at all. they'll laugh at you.
Nobody in my family has ever sued anyone before, so it's not like I'm always quick to do it. I wouldn't have cared if the guy had just admitted that it could have been them, but telling me that it wasn't caused by a lift and that was already there is stupid.

I'll probably end up not bothering, but if I did take it to court it's just small claims, so it would only be the franchise owner against me. I don't really care if it costs more than I get back, it's just the principle of it.
</font>
I would go to a few different body shops and have them write a statement saying the damage was caused by a lift, which it was.
</font>
getting hung up on a curb can do the same damage. If its going to cost you money for a principal your not thinking. Like I said they'll laugh at you it wont hurt them and the employee that did it sure has hell doesnt care and will do it again. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! btw all it takes is a pair of pliars to fix it, grab hold of the seam and bend. nothing to it.

It was fixed this morning, but it would be pretty damn hard for a curb to damage both fenders without leaving a mark anywhere else. And suing wouldn't hurt the company financially if I did, which isn't going to matter now anyways, but it's a locally owned franchise. The owner would have to go through the hassle of appearing in court personally instead of trying to make it right in the first place.
