            viper, are you planning on staying in the Military until retirement? If so, do you think you're going to stay at that base until then? Also, about the VA benefits, aren't they one-time use only? If they are then I'm glad I'm saving mine until I get out... ;)

              there are so many programs out there for first time buyers that unless you have really crappy credit, you should be able to buy a house with $0 down and still avoid PMI (mortgage insurance).

                no you can use the VA again as long as you sell the first house you got with it [img]smile.gif[/img] :D

                not sure how long i'll be here... it might not be that long but i just got here and i'm planiing on staying till i reinlist or get out and get a civ job

                    You may get rid of some of the fees but there is a little thing called the va funding fee that more than makes up for any fees that you don't have to pay..trust me I just went through all of this 9 months ago..and beware you may still end up paying mortage insurance.

                      Alot of states also have First time homebuyer type programs, where you can get into a house no money down with a crazy low interest.

                      I know WV does, anyway.
