Watching CNN and showing a report on Iraq stuff. Talking about re-taking a town. But after the fire fight is over and we have secured the area.

Did you know, that soldiers go from house to house, building to building, and negotiate a settlement on the damages and pay them on the spot in nice crisp new US dollars.

They they then held it up to the light as it looked to real.


Ya I know how people feel about the war but that is super nice no matter how you look at it. Most people don't get squat for that stuff or it takes years.

A car tried to run a checkpoint. The driver was shot and killed. The car sat empty alonside the road for 2 days then was drug off by US forces. A week later an Iraqi man came to the checkpoint wanting his car. He said he had no ties to the man in the car, but he could prove the car was his because it he had a picture of the car. The man became very upset when it was explained that the car was removed and could not be located.

The OIC had to pay this Iraqi gentleman for the car.

So recap. Car used in attempted terrorist activity. Left sitting, then removed. Someone shows up with JUST A PHOTO of the car and gets compensation.

V8Killer, I would be with you, except my mom is in the National Guard, and I've met quite a bit of marines/soldiers who've come back from Iraq, and say that the media is blowing everything outta porportion with the way they say things are in Iraq.

We rebuild or repay for everything we blow up in other countries. We even pay for stuff we didn't blow up. Dam we rebuilt Europe. That's nothing new.

we also rebuilt japan. gave them new equipment/refineries meanwhile teh US factories were about 30yrs old aat the time.
