I hate to say it man, but those are some pretty poor marks on 3dmark for the hardware you have.

I can pull around 15,000, can't remember exactly haven't done it in awhile.

    Here's my system config

    Athlon XP 2800+ (barton core)

    1 gigabyte DDR400 RAM

Nvidia Geforce FX5800 ultra video card

    Asus A7N8X mobo.

Go into your video card settings, see if you can find a setting for anti-aliasing: turn it off, that will help your results significantly. Go to task manager and end any unneccessary processes that suck up CPU usage. You did run the 3dmark benchmark on the default settings didn't you?

doesn't 3dmark just test your video card?
the computer performs great, it's weak point has always lied with the video card

3dmark tests mainly your video card, but a strong vid card isnt going anywhere if your processor cannot compute fast enough to process the memory bs...not getting into specifics...

that is also a big vice-versa, strong processor, weak card= strong results FOR A CRAPPY CARD...which in the end still means crappy results period

          example... athlon 64 3200+ with a geforce 3, lets say makes 2100 on 3dmark03.

while a weaker processor, athlon xp 2800, same vid card will make a `1500 on 3dmark03. get it?

for sure the weak spot on this computer is the graphics card
