Roommates motorcycle recovered

Well yesterday were leaving a electronics show up here in Denver and my roomates gets a call and just stops walking and turns white. I'm like o **** what happened well he gets off the phone and hes like they found my bike. Well his bike got stolen clear back in September so we had pretty much wrote it off as gone for good. It was a limited edition 2003 R6 so it kinda stuck out. Well it turns out the guy who had it ran a red light @ about 100 mph and got hit by a van. Well we know the bike is pretty tore up and we know where the guy is right now. When the car hit him it shattered his ribs and punctured his lung so he is in ICU. The bike is in impound and we are gonna go get it out tomorrow and see how bad it is. Supposedly he was boring the bike from a friend so we don't know the whole story but he has gotten a lawyer and he gonna sue him for damages to the bike and find out who really stole it. The weird thing is the guy was 38 and hit birthday was Friday same as my roomates. Were gonna go down there and see if we can see it through the fence today we could barely see it last night but it was dark then. I'll post pictures when we find out more on it.

It's good that they found it and someone that was not the right owner. Hopefully if the frame is not bent, it's salvageable but a hit @ 100 is not likely.

It's closure at the very least.

That is a nice bike, did the ins. company pay it off? Those are fetching more coin because of them being limited.

Well we went and looked at it and it was pretty tore up the stator cover was busted all the fairings tore up. The guy had repainted the bike so it wouldn't be identifiable. Both clipons are broken off. The frame looked of as far as I could tell but I didn't get to look @ it for long because we sweet talked the lady into letting us look at it. As far as insurance he had liability on it but had a theft policy that came with the bike for 5 grand so he got that out of it at least. Now the guy will get to pay for the damage to the bike and he will have it back. Heres pics of it

Bikes are harder to keep track of.
No windows to roll up n lock.

Ya gotta carry a wheel lock or disable it in a small way every time you park.

besides that, they will need a truck and will take time to load it, locked and not running.

wow ,that looks remarkably good for being hit at 100. from all i can see the handlebars came off.

parts alone on the bike are over 8,000 everything is busted it won't even start so ya its totalled

what goes around comes around..... If he wouldnt have stole the bike, he wouldnt have a bike, and he wouldnt be in ICE ;)

Of coarse he does not deserve to die, and I hope he comes out of this okay. He sure learned his lesson the hard way...

Hey, even though your friend got shafted for it, tell him I said thanks for indirectly taking an idiot off the streets of Denver. Now to get rid of the other million... ;)
