V8 gets my vote as well.
Though mine's not an LT1, I do have a fuel injected 383 stroker in my '81 and let me tell you, that engine never ceases to amaze me with it's capability.Trucks
\'05 Dodge 3500 Dually Cummins Turbo Diesel
\'98 Dodge 2500 4x4 360 V8 (Wife\'s)
Toys
\'81 Chevy K10 Stroker/Swampers/Custom Suspension/1-Tons/Beadlocks
\'99 Camaro Z28 6 Spd, T-tops, Borla

Real trucks don\'t have spark plugs

Buy the SLP 402 short block. Its cheap (for an LS1) and effective. If your going to swap don't even think about the LT1.
Personaly, I'd leave it alone, but if I wanted a fast car, I'd go nitrous on a built 6. It will be A LOT cheaper.Turbocharged and intercooled.
17psi(oops), stock fuel pump, no FMU
http://www.cardomain.com/id/phoenix64
Video: ftp://ftp.pfabrication.com Assorted car ****: TurboCamaroFull.

Yeah, if you have the money, mid-as-well go with the LS1, who can beat 310 (conservatily rated) hp stock? Intake, Exhaust, and your in the low 13s. Its takes a lot of money to drop into the 13s with a v6. Plus, who could turn away the sound of the Loudmouth on an LS1??? Its amazing, I have to bring a change of boxers when I ride with my friend in his '98 Z28.Black \'94 Trans Am A4- SLP CAI & Loudmouth
Red \'93 Firebird A4- Ram Air under the WS6 hood, !cat, exhaust.
