plan on replacing a tranny if you buy the WRX. if you've driven one, you understand what i'm saying.

they're all over the place in virginia... hell, i have an infestation of 4-5 under my deck.

in contrast, i feel like i see a lot less GTPs- not to mention the GTP's ride is very, very nice. i have friends who own both (more own WRXes though) and in the GTP, you can make more power more reliably and put it to the ground more easily than you can in a WRX.

Explain that? FWD cars are the hardest to launch, AWD cars are the easiest...

and put any power on a GTP tranny and it breaks like a twig.

I know people running 13s with a 350 and a T5 behind it. Keep running 12s on them... see how long they last... It is not a "strong tranny"

A WRX drivetrain isn't that bad, just because there are ricers out there dumping the clutch at 6k rpms at the launch, then the drivetrain breaks does not mean they are week.

                      I agree :D

I just don't understand what some of the GTP guys expect with some of the torque numbers they throw at these tranny's.

2nd gear on the wrx has problems. its not a great tranny. the gtp is a better all around car but the wrx has better performance and handling. the wrx will have a few problems in the drivetrain but other than that its a decent car. the wrx does feel cheap though.

What about the new Pontiac GXP... 5.3L LS4 v-8 with 290 HP. I'd buy that one.

tough choice but i would probably choose the GTP for the sheer fact that it has more room and a better ride.
