You're kidding right? GM is finally doing something right.

I think the G6 looks tons better then the Bonneville did.

C6 is probably the best mass produced vette ever. Yup 400HP sucks

C6 Z06 is going to be right on the heals of the Ford GT, for hundreds of thousands less.

Cobalt SS, finally a good power compact to beat the ricers at their own game.

The Soltice is gonna be an affordable 2 seater roadster.

The GTO, a high powered RWD coupe that rivals the performance and the quality of an M3.

They brought Cadillac back from farting dust with their grandpa customers and now have the "3 under 5 cars."

You guys are just mad because GM pissed in your cheerios by ending the Fbody. But they will most likely bring the Camaro back in 07.

Personally, I think GM is doing great at revising their image of poor quality.

Right, a fortune 100 company made the mistake of killing something YOU people want because....ooo, I don't know, wasn't making a profit. Thats the dumbest thing I have ever heard....

Those days of chrome, carbs, and catless cars are OVER!!! DEAL WITH IT!!!!! F-body is dead. Time to move on. You people live too much in the past. I bet half of you still have rotary phones sitting right next to your floor model television set with a wired remote control. And the other half of you want a car that has some 7000 hp streetable on pump gas, get a grip on reality. There is a reason why there are different types of cars out there, because not everyone wants a two seat rocket on f***ing wheels. That is a problem with a lot of you, you never really slow down to see what is going on, you want to get to the store in 9 seconds.

The things GM has done, doing now, and will be doing are amazing. I was looking at the 2006 Monte Carlo SS, the 5.3l DOD V8, impressive to me for such fairly new technology. If I could come up with the money by the time this hits a showroom floor, I would buy it.

Then you got what Pontiac is doing, moderately high hp street sedans, at affordable prices. The new GTP's, the G6, GTO are all nice cars. But you don't like it because it doesn't represent what pontiac used to be. I honestly don't see what is so crappy about these new Pontiacs?? Is it because the GTO doesn't look like the GTO's of the past??? You want some chrome on it?? You want the damn thing to weight 7 metric tons??? You want 4 miles to the gallon?
Get a f***ing grip.

You also have the new C6, 400+ hp car, and with the new Z06 coming next year, just as speed_demon said, a formidable car that will compete well with the Ford GT, for tens of thousands less. Wait till the C6-R hits the LeMans series, it will smash every competitor like it did in 2000 at Daytona, finishing 1st and 3rd overall. But you all pissed and moaned because "It doesn't have pop up headlights anymore...boo hoo".

Then you have the frontrunners of technology for GM, the Cadillac line of cars. Between the STS-V, CTS-V, and XLR, why would I want to buy a f***ing Mercedes?? And if you want pure luxury, wait till 2009, when the new Deville hits the market. I figure why spend a boat load of money, when I can get a good caddy for the price I would pay for a sh**y Mercedes. If you want a good Mercedes, hope you have a "Dr." prefix on your name, cause that is the only way you will afford one.

Too many of you don't like the new GM cars because they don't appeal to you. Well, thats nice, and you are allowed your opinion, but remember, MOST OF YOU ARE DRIVING ONE!!!!! So shut up, deal with it, because you could be driving a Chrysler, Nissan, or :shakes: a FORD!!!

I have owned (or driven for some great amount of time) at least TWO cars from all the big 3 makers in Detroit.

Upside to most Chrysler automobiles, most every part on that car is replacable, and easy to find. Downside is that on most of those parts, you have to buy some other part that is used in conjunction with the part you need. For example, I was driving a Dodge Ram 150 before I got the Monte. Fuel pump went out, but instead of being able to buy just the fuel pump, you had to buy the whole sending unit, because no one offered just the pump. Easy to fix, but I ended up spending more money than I thought I would.

Then you got Ford. POS if I have ever seen one. Anyone who has ever worked on a Ford knows that everything is completely different under the hood of a Ford compared to a GM or Chrysler car. Complicated emmission, fuel, timing systems, wiring harnasses that just boggle the mind. I had a 1988 Ford Econoline 250, I can't tell you how much money I dumped into that thing just to keep it going. I spent more money on parts than I did for the van itself. I would replace one part, another would break. I remember replacing the fuel cutoff safety switch, had it running smooth for 15 minutes, then broke the two fuel pumps (my van had dual tanks, 2 fuel pumps per tank, one high pressure, one low pressure). Spent $210 on new fuel pumps, and then the fuel reservoir clogs (why it had a fuel reservoir, I don't know, thats just Ford engineering). Bought a new fuel reservoir, had it running smooth for two days, and the damn ECC IV comp goes out. Its neverending with a Ford. One part breaks, expect to buy others as well.

Then you have GM. I have owned three GM cars, a 1977 Buick LeSabre, a 1997 Chevrolet Camaro, and a 1995 Monte Calor Z34. The Buick was bought brand new by my great aunt for $4500 in Sept of '76. She owned it till she passed away in 1992, and only put a little over 50k on the odometer. One year after that, a cousin of mine owned the car for 9 months, racking up amazingly another 52k on the odometer. It then sat from the spring of 1994 till summer of 1998, not moving one inch in those 4 years. The paint was bad, underbody was rusting, it only had three tires on it, no battery, brake lines were rusted thru, didn't have an oil change in those 4 years, as I said, it sat, no one drove it. I came and picked it up from my cousins house, all we did to it was put a tire on it, a battery, disconnected the coil, turned the key to get some oil flowing back thru it, reconnected the coil, and sure enough, it started. It ran smooth, real smooth, and real quiet. I owned that car for over a year, and the only thing that I ever did to it besides a tune up was replace a wheel that was bent. 23 year old car, that sat for four years, 102k on the odometer, and it ran great.

I traded the Buick for the Camaro in the early spring of 2000, because I wanted something new. Owned the Camaro till the Winter of 2002, when my wonderful brother decided that his booty call was important enough to basically steal my car. I only replaced ONE coil on that car that failed on me, in three years. As for the Monte, only thing I replaced on it was a positive battery cable, and a busted ball joint that broke on me while driving on the interstate ( I replaced both, with the help of 3.4 slow to go). Other than that, I have never had a problem with a GM car. If something breaks on one, buy the part, replace the bad part with a good one, and its good to go. No messing around with a chance that somthing else will break, no having to buy a ton of parts to compliment the one that broke. As much as all of you won't admit, GM stuck to simplicity, which the other makers stopped doing a long time ago. And that is one of the main reasons I buy a GM, SIMPLICITY!!! If you don't think they are that simple to work on, then I beg you to go work on a Ford just one time.

Oh, and one more thing, the applied technology between a 1993 or 2002 Camaro or Firebird has not changed that drastically to the cars that are '04 and '05's. Still using OBD II comps, which was introduced in 1995 for most GM cars, still using pushrods in some engines, which that technology is as old as the automobile itself. So basically, you are all b****ing because of looks, and tradition. All this about body panels and nameplates, astonishing.

I love GM, and regardless of what GM does, I'll be with them to the end. Wow, they killed the Fbody! OH NOES! I love them as much or more then all of you guys, but guess what, they are still out there. It's not like they were vaporized from the face of the earth. But guess what, GM has A LOT going for them.

It's just about preference and times.

Now a days family men arnt looking for a muscle type of car for the kids and wife. Or a 4 door with balls. Nope, its all about the buying the most homosexual looking vehicle. But that will change more and more everyday as we all do are part in pointing and laughing at the middle aged man driving a honda or 4 door 120 horsepower family cars.

The Good for GM -----------------

GM does good by dropping the f-body, a line from the 60's that hasnt changed majorly at all.

Bonneville sales slump, the car has been redesigned and redesigned and it still a slump. End it.

GM adds some spice to Buick line and drops a few of their uglies.

GM perfects Caddilac to compete with European and Japanese Luxury/Performance Sedans. (Smartest thing GM has done.)

GM's Corvette is stronger than ever.

GM brings back the GTO.

GM starts to take sport compacts as a serious market and repleaces the Cavilier with the Cobalt.

The Bad for GM-------------------

GM did not replace the F-body. This is very bad, since the F-body was not a failure, it was more like slumped sales that had a chance to be revivied.

The GTO does not follow its roots, it does not look like a GTO at all and it is not affordable to younger people like the GTO was back in the 60's.

If it doesnt appeal to the GTO fans, and only wealthy people can buy it. Who will buy this car? The same small population of loser types that bought the Chevy SSR. Good one GM!

Cobalt and Saturn ION should have more power/gearing performance and less bullsh*t.

GM continues to produce the Pontiac Vibe and some other weird models that just don't compete with anything. They are essentially useless cars and have no purpose than to get you from point a to point b in an ugly way.

-------- Now with Dodge
Dodge has the chance to take it all really.

With dodge making Chrysler a very heavy hitter GM is going to need all the Cadillac support they can get from people. Because Chryslers S/C 300M Seriously hits balls to wall performance and power. 425 horsepower to be exact for the SRT-8 Model.

Then you got the neon srt-4 which is making great sales because its a bang for buck.

Why are Dodge trucks so popular? I know why, because in Dodge trucks reside men like my father who are obsessed with one thing.... Mopar.

If Dodge were to release a Charger tommorrow... Well Lets just say there might be an earthquake in my city.

I am suprised Dodge didnt release a Charger sooner because if the "Mopar" popularity. It would be a huge mistake if they canceled it. If they did then that would be equal to the owner basically cutting off one of his balls and throwing it into a lake.

GM basically leaves the muscle/pony car market open. They better do something fast.

Ford has almost you could say "perminent" spot with the Mustang, but not everyone likes them

Why is everyone calling GM crap and getting upset because the Bonneville was discontinued? Honestly, who cares? Bonnevilles are ugly anyway. GM is A BUSINESS. I was mad about the F-body too, but if GM doesn't make smart business decisions, then it won't be around to make cool cars like the Corvette, GTO, G6, etc.

People easily forget that those making the decisions for GM have a business to run and are responsible for hundreds of thousands of jobs. Besides, a little change doesn't hurt. I'm glad GM is taking steps into the future with its product lines.

Oh BirdOfPrey, have you seen what the Charger is going to be? A large 4-door...hmm, why did Pontiac discontinue the Bonneville...lemme think, wait, hold on, oh YEAH, because people don't want to buy large 4-door sedans anymore!!! Here's to Dodge...
