depending on the year, they are good trucks.. stay 01 or newer... also... you have to keep an eye on your sparkplugs... they say to check torque every oil change.. My friend had one and it was famous for spitting sparkplugs out.. the design of the head only has 3 threads holding the plugs in, an start pushing boots and they tend to loosen up a bit..
I think theres a difference in blowers between 00 and 04...
The lightinign is a good truck... my friend loves his and has over 60K miles and is still running it hard. Just maintain it and it will treat you well

SVT stopped making the lightnings last year. "Supposdly" not going to be making them anymore. If you wanna go fast get a 1st gen one. The newer 2nd gen ones take a boat load of money to go 11's, short block is weaker than the 1st gen. if you are looking for 12's or 13's then the 2nd gen is for you, if you are looking for 10's or 11's then go with a first gen. Also if your just looking for a daily driver (aka, not a race car) then go with the 2nd gen. if you want more info on the check out www.nloc.net1987 Buick Grand National drivetrain in my 1993 Pontiac Firebird. My money is on Buick not being part of the lineup of GM by 2008 if you ask me.
Lightning production HAS stopped, until they come up with a new one based off the new F-Series platform.
SVT has said they will always have 1 SVT Mustang, and 1 Truck.Mustangs.. Come to the darkside...

The dark side is the path to the shadow of greed. =D
