Actually, if I recall correctly speeding is the only traffic offense you can't be arrested for in Texas. Every other traffic offense is an arrestable offense (headlight out, etc). I believe that is what my friend told me (was an officer in Texas for 7 years).</font>[/QUOTE]that's what i said. you can't be arrested unless you refuse to sign the ticket. the other one that requires a citation is possession of an open container, but if you refuse to sign the ticket, you go to jail.
don't listen to anyone unless they are in a uniform or can currently produce a badge. even then, i'd be somewhat skeptical. laws change every few years. if you don't actively keep up with it, you'll get out of the loop quick.
