• FIRST TICKET!!!! AAAHHHHH

well i got my first ticket last night... been pulled over before but no tickets spotless record. I've been driving since the age of 15 in MD with my permit.

I got pulled for 80 in a 55... all because he thought i was racing a RSX that was about 5 car lengths behind me. I wasn't racing, just trying to get over. So he makes me get out of my car and stand by his drivers side door while he wrote me my tickets... yes ticketSSSS. Explaining that he has a honda S2000.

I got a negligent driving ticket for going 80mph or greater, and a speeding ticket. The negligent is $275 and the speeding is $140!!!! I'm totally screwed... f*** s*** a$$****

He then proceeds to tell me as we got into conversation that if i told him my uncle was a cop before he wrote the tickets he would have let me off. WHAT AN ***!!!!!!! What can I do to get out of this???

um.. don't speed next time. it's a lot easier to get behind somebody than in front of them. i don't think you can get out of it now. maybe you should have cried and given him puppy-dog eyes. that works for most chics down here.

damn cars... i'm glad i wasn't in the Z28... that would have been worse. I hate sports cars...LOL <bangs head>

Everyone says since it's my first offense i could most likely go to court and they'd let me off with just the speeding ticket. I dunno.

I absolutely DESPISE crap like that. Why should your uncle (or any relation) make any difference in weather or not you get a ticket.

Tough break though, but I know my tickets have made me a smarter, better driver. Also makes you look forward to the 3yr3mo. it takes for them to disappear.

Always go to court,be polite and ask them if they will reduce it for you. Showing up shows them that you care enough to make the effort.

maybe you can do a deffered judification (sp?) where you go on a probationary period. if you don't get a ticket within that period they will take the ticket off of your record (of course you still have to pay the ticket, but it's better than nothing)

Next time that happens, don't go 25 over just to pass someone. You should of just swallowed your pride and gotten behind him. You never know, then he might of gotten the ticket!

When you go to court speak with the detective.

Explain about family members in PD.
Explain first ticket
See what they can do.

I've had many tickets dropped/ reduced that way

Wellm in alabama it helps if you know the judges. I got 2 tickets... 43 in 25.. got off of that one totally. Then 71 in 55... had to go to driving school for a few hours. I have since slowed down.

What the boob said!

Should be able to do you well if you speak with the officer before going infront of the judge that morning too. Officer might remember and help.

I got 6 tickets at one pull over. I went to court and had three dismissed. The other three were dismissed on appeal.
