If what people on Viper and Ferrari boards say to you, upsets you -- Don't go there then. You bought your Vette because you always wanted a Vette. The end. Do you realize the lineage the Corvette has? There is history and pride in owning a Corvette. Viper has no history.

And I'm sorry -- what's a Ferrari owner doing on the internet talking trash on message boards? Don't they have some kind of gala or ballroom dance party to attend with all their rich friends? Seems to me, those trash talking Ferrari owners are either rich kids or posers.

corvette is a nice classy car. it has a huge aftermarket. you dont need to import your parts from across the pond. its interior is 'refined' compared to some of the other mentioned vehicles.

The bottom line is that it doesn't have 8.3L's and it won't beat them. Compare what you have, not what you wish you had. Fact of the matter is the Viper smacks the Vette like a red headed step-child but it should. Being a supercar, it should smack around a vette. No shame there.

Lets face it, the Corvette is not what it once used to be. They are a dime a dozen today and you see them on nearly every block you drive. Once before they were "rare" and the average Joe Schmo couldn't afford one. That is hardly the case today because it seems "everyone" has a vette. They are in no way a bad car but they are not in the league of a Viper, Lambo, Ferrari etc.., That isn't putting the Vette down at all. The before mentioned cars just have a mystique and persona about them that the Vette lacks.

damn strait that C5s are a dime a dozen! when i got mine i realized that there are 4 on my street. all 4 of us having torch red Vettes. and now everyday i drive to work i see one that lives next to my hospital and when i go visit my friend at his apartment i park mine right by my friends neighboor's vette (another torch red)

but to compare Vettes with vipers and lambos is just plain dumb. the price difference is too great to compare. MTI has a ZO7 package that puts out 550 all motor, but it will put you back about 20 grand. if you are going to spend that kind on mods, might as well just buy the viper in the first place.

corvettes are in a class by themselves - inexpensive luxury sport cars.

but to be honest i am not taking my vette to the track till after the heads/cam just on the fact it is too embarressing to run 13s in a vette.

Sounds to me like you're too concerned about what people over the internet think about the type of car you have.

Peoples opinions over the internet are useless. A 12 year old kid can say he has a ferrari and corvette's are slow. It doesn't mean anything. If you're that concerned about what people think about your car, atleast base it off of what people tell you in real life rather than over a message board. How many ferraris, vipers, lambos etc, do you pass crusing on a normal day? I would bet it's around 0.

Besides,,there's vette clubs out there that also exclude every car besides a corvette,,and talk **** about them. Maybe you should join one of those clubs to make you feel better about your choice.

Woooaaa guys .... Im very hapy with my vette and realize that it's only a 50,000 dollar car....

I actually paid more for my Navigator than I did for my vette. So by all means I dont really expect my car to out perform vipers or especialy Lamborginis......Thats not what I was trying to say.

I just thought it was funny how even when you have a vette theres still people talking crap about how slow your ride is.....

I personaly wouldnt even compare a vette against Ferraris and Lambos..... That just seems stupid... These cars cost so much more it isnt even funny....

I personaly do consider the vette a super car.... I was born and raised in a small town in Virginia called Fluvanna and personaly never even saw a C5 before except on calanders and T shirts....

Of course it's probaly the cheapest super car but defiently not the worst....I personaly give that honor to the Prowler and NSX....

They are pretty common though.....Ive been seeing 1 every 3 days on average so far over here in Hawaii....I only see vipers once a week and a half...(it really depends on wich side of the island your on.....On the rich side all you will see are vettes and vipers. As far as my neibor hood goes theres only one other one that I know about.... And it's over a mile away from my house...

I didnt post this cas I really care what people think about me....(Remember I drove a neon green convertable that the only person who would think as atractive were me and my mother...He he)

As far as joining the corvette board is concearned that is totaly out of the question....I joined that board back when I had my 6 abd they all laughed at me...Saying that it wasnt worth supercharging a 6 and blah blah blah....Most of them are rich snobbly people just like on the viper board...

I like this board better than anything else out there....Look all Ive been posting about is my vette and so far not one person has flamed me yet...Im sure alot of you dont even knw who I am and that says alot about our board.

I bought my V6 Camaro because I loved the car. Granted, I wouldn't mind a Z28 or a 'Vette, but I'm prefectly happy with what I have.

I respect the opinion of everyone, even though I may or may not agree, but this is quite silly. For being such a pos, the Viper trounces anything that comes off the assembly line from both GM and Ford. Just think, this pos runs with and beats the baddest of the bad that this world offers. Screw em. I got a 3.4 camaro. My best friend drives a sunfire and my other friend drives a kia. Im king of the hill. Forget the internet. I mean, people on the board here with really nice cars, awesome for them, I respect what they have done, but It doesnt hurt my feelings any about how my car couldnt beat thier car. Same thing with lambos and vipers. Duh. They cost more. They got them for the style behind them, and if they are ragging you for buying a car you love, forget them. What kind of car enthusast puts down another for buying a car he likes? Seems kinda stupid to me.

Oh, and the 2.2 turbo from the eighties was a mean *** engine from mopar. I get my *** handed to me every day on the way to work by that damn GLH-S Omni. One day....

that doesnt show that i have a complete lack of knowledge. all is shows is that im not a big mopar fan. notice i said i would buy a vette over a viper. and that mopar is a pos. read between the lines a little, and understand what someone is trying to say before u flame them. i would also hope that a car with a v10 would beat most cars with a v8 stock for stock.
