In case of emergency make sure your grill works fine so you can cook your defrosting meet,a nd make sure you have plenty of ice, beer, and condoms.

it contradicts itself by linking to the Red Cross
the first thing it says in the red cross link is to get under something
im glad I dont have to worry about earthquakes here, cuz that link would just confuse me
do you listen to a spam email that snopes rips on the author referenced in the email?
or do you listen to the Red Cross?

That makes perfect sense. Stacked paper is pretty good at holding up weight. I have worked in a printing facility before, we used to stack whole ink towers on top of skids of paper, and these ink tower weighed in anywhere from 1 ton to 10 tons, the paper wouldn't give, but was still soft enough as to not damage precision parts.

Consider that a stack of paper is pretty much a big wooden block when it comes to compressive forces.
