Agreed, A&M is a very fun place, and College Station always has something to do. But, the drive to the strip in Lubbock which takes closer to 5 minutes than 20 is not soo bad. Also, Tech has a reputation for being in the Top 5 universities according to Playboy (every other year or so we're there).
My advice to you since I am EE with a math minor at Tech: Don't blow off your easiest classes. You know the ones, like history and such that you could probably get an A in without attending. Make an attempt to go to every class possible, take good notes even if you already know the material, and don't cram for tests. I should already be graduated, but have another year or so because I did not do these things. Of course, I'm having a blast and still love college and what I do. Most of all, HAVE FUN with whatever you do, you won't want to look bad and regret it later.
