lmao. any of you trying to offend-- at this point i totally agree with you.

ok ok. so i thot id get away with not having to type out that whole response again... ill edit and put the whole "quote" up there in my original post. no my car didnt get crushed, but yes the law went thru that if you car gets impounded the law is allowed to SELL it (if you are caught street racing, as any of the fines would be classified as) or if it cant be sold, they will crush it into a heap and recycle it.

    asshats.

my god i wounldn't make it 5 feet.....

if i was sent there as millitray do these law still matter if my car is registered in ohio?

i think that is totally wrong the only thing i know of that you can't do federally is take the cat off......

this don't make any sense.... i mean STS just got a cail "GO" for there remote mount kits on the 2005 GTO and it made 75% LESS emmitions then stock !!!.

so if you car was moded with mod that was all 50 state legal can they still do anything ? technially those mods are NOT illage in that state.....

all i know is i i didn't do any thing and they tried/did crush my car i would take it all the way to the surprem court if i could.......

and yet noone has complained about "federal" money being used in a purely (nazi)state function like this.

AS I have stated many, many, many times before ........ I'm embarassed to been born in that state.

              What a bunch of commies.

I hate california. Glad I only lived there for a month and a half.

As long as my car isn't obnoxious, has emissions equipment (or passes emissions...which we don't have here), what the heck is the problem?

Jesus. Let's just get all commie and drive the same toyota hybrid required by state law to have white paint(cause we know white paint is better in a desert) and a radio that only blares state propaganda...

              goddamn communists.

i share all of your opinions about cali but here in OK., if they impound it and they have it for more than 30days, it does go to auction. so cali isnt the only state doing that. i agree though that if you are street racing, your car should go straight to auction, do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars. but the biggest BS is the federal money. its a states problem and i dont want my money going to ****ing californians

If that passes, I might just have to forego moving out to California. That's absolutely absurd, just cause you modify your car for more performance it's not logical to jump to "You're doing it for ILLEGAL PURPOSES!"

out here in Kali -- if your car is impounded because you are/were suspected of street racing. they dont impound it for 30 days. you dont get it back period. its CONFISCATED and then resold to the highest bidder.

if it cant be sold (not street legal) then it is crushed. plain and simple.

This gov't pratice of inspecting vehicles was proposed, voted & implemented by the people of California will be noticed by other states as another way to raise revenue. I will be closely watching these ugly trends migrate East and then it will be time to write to my local gov't officials, car enthusiasts & auto clubs. The aftermarket manufacturers that make street legal components for our cars are directly affected & I'm sure they're acting on the problem too.
Long ago in 1990 when I was a member of a Pontiac enthusiast car club, we gathered support to protest the 55mph speed limit by taking over a main highway driving strictly @ 55mph. The idea caught the eyes of the media and the local gov't officials and measures were quickly made to amend a new & higher speed limit to 65 which is now the law.
Gov't intrusion is scary I agree, we all have to organize and defend what's right. Just like the helmet laws around the country being hotly debated between state legislatures vs motorcyclists, bikers have collectively organized massive support to defeat helmet laws legally. Your state gov't should recognize the power of a knowledgable hot rodder who applies legal performance upgrades on his or her vehicle that complies with existing state laws and not follow California tactics. Bikers have a motto towards unfair gov't proposals ~ " Let Those Who Ride Decide".
I think we should let our lawmakers know too.

I don't remember voting on anything like this
I also do not remember any elected official stating he was going to create such a law.

I do agree though, the people can protest and whatever, but I'm sure the counties/state will put up with a little protest for MILLIONS of dollars in revenue.

Hell, they do that here in Indiana, but I think the state has to possess the vehicle for more than 60 days or some such stuff.
