By the way, there's talks about JP4 by Spielberg coming out late next year or '07.
I just bought the DVD JP3 and was watching it last night. The T-Rex lost easily to supposedly badder and meaner dinosaur like the Spinosaurus. I scratch my head on this one because the T-Rex is one of my favorite dino and I've studied it long enough to know that it shouldn't have happened that way.
I checked the bonus feature and they used this Paleantology that said that T-Rex is nothing more than a scavenger. He also said that it has poor vision, and slow moving. It can hardly catch any prey at all. Well most predator except birds have 10% chance of catching their preys anyway.
Well I looked into it and I found out that this movie is false. First here's the stat:
Spinosaurus 40-50 ft.
T-rex 33-45 ft.
Spinosaurus 4-6 tons (thin long built)
T-rex 5-7 tons (stocky built)
Spinosaurus teeth 6-8" long made for cutting
T-rex 8-13" cone pointy shape made for crushing bones
Spinosaurus skull is 8' long.
T-rex 5' long.
Spinosaurus spends most of the day in water and eats fish.
T-rex spends most of it's day hunting its prey with it's incredible sense of smell.
Eventhough they are 100 millions years apart and from different continents, put them together. The T-Rex will definately win because of it's weight advantage, hunting skills, large teeth made for crushing and muscular body. The jaw and neck like structure on the T-rex also indicates more developed muscles for locking.
It makes sense. Once a T-rex bites a Spinosaurus it's jaw will lock and crush it's bones. The muscular neck will twist it's prey.
This is my conclusion. I put my money on T-rex.
If Paleantogist discovered the bones of a Great Dane and a Pit bull. They would probably say that the Great Dane is baddest of all dogs. In reality, the Pit Bull will kill the Great Dane always.
