Guess what happened to me today!

the only reason i was going to get a "beater" was for low insurance rates. because if my rates go up then i'll have to get a lesser car to pay the same amount. i know focuses are ugly but i have to get into ricer mentality "i want a quick car for cheap and low insurance" i'm trying to get a little performance for no money lol.

here's the bottom line:
-if my car is considered totalled my rates DONT go up.. ls1

-if my car ISNT totalled and my rates don't go up.. i get my baby back

-if the car is totalled and my rates DO go up.. a lesser car (pay less money so i can save for a better car in a few years)

-if the car ISNT totalled and the rates go up.. might have to sell the bird because i won't be able to afford insurance..

i REALLY hoping for option 1.. so i can get the transam i've wanted since i was like 10 but if i end up having to sell the car because of rates. i'm going to have to get a beater so i can save and the get transam later down the road.

bottom line an ls1 will be mine, oh yes. it will be mine.... eventually

thanks man.. yeah i have 1 blackout now.. i used to have 2 lol. i never thought about that and it's possible that he didn't see my brakelights. but being a white car in mid afternoon i don't give him any freebies. i'm going to chalk it up to idiocy, poor choice in judgment, driving a civic, and being an all around sh.itty driver.

Looks bad, sorry for the bad news and seeing it is worse.

bad news.. maybe. insurance adjuster called me today to tell me that my bird is in fact a total. he said that just from indepth visual inspection there was upwards of 10,000 dollars worth of damage. so looks like im stuck in the echo a little bit longer. will probably look for cars this weekend.

(if anyone in the DFW area has seen any nice used cars then i'd appreciate the heads up..)

sorry to hear it..... but on the other hand, as long as they give you a reasonable settlement, its better that they total it than try to pass of a half-assed repair job where the car will never be right.

update (yeah it's been a while):

insurance company said they'll give me $12,529.06.. so after my deductible it will be 12,029.06.. i'll post pics of my replacement after i receive the money to buy whatever it may be..

If you waved a check for 12 in his face he'd probably take it, if not you could probably scrounge up a G.
