  • Darn Undercover Cops

The other day I was with 3 of my friends(me in one car with my friend driving and 2 in the other). Thankfully I wasnt driving since I have not gotten my car back from the dealership after I wrecked it. Well, we were all at this girls house and they decided to race to a near by restaurant where we were going to eat lunch. The speed limit was 45 on the road and both cars were stuck behind 2 other cars, one in each lane. Light turns green and both cars are riding the rear of the cars in front of them trying to go. One friend(in a mazda truck) finally gets around this typical grandparents car, somthing like a Chevy Lumina or something. Well they are going 75 in a 45 weaving in and out of traffic trying to get there. Im with my friend in his Nissan Maxima and all of a sudden he looks out his rear view and sees that same Lumina with blue lights flashing in his dash. The cop pulls up to us and all he says is "slow that car down" and drives off toward are buddies in the truck and says the same thing to them. We think he must of been a volunteer or something since he did not give them a ticket. Now after it happens and you think about it, teenagers do some STUPID things sometimes! But there was NO WAY to tell that the car was a cop, I hate it when they do that!

I don't know about where you live but here unmarked cars still have an extra antenna in the back.

My boyfriend got pulled over by a totally unmarked Civic not too long ago ... cops got everything now-a-days, at least around here!

Cops have to have at least SOME cars that have absolutely nothing on them to indicate police, to use in undercover operations, like prostitution stings. It just happens that they're also convenient for speeding enforcement.

75 in a 45? People don't usually watch out for stuff like that...

i have a question about undercover cop cars. are the cops in them in uniform? cause when we drive by cars that look like undercover/unmarked cop cars on the highway before passing, we look to see if the person has a cop uniform or not. cause i garuntee if a unmarked car pulls me over and he pops out in jeans and a tee im taking off cause i had someone try to pull me over that wasnt a cop.

Depends on the situation, but if you are not sure, you are supposed to drive to a crowded place and pull over there. No real cop will give you **** about wanting to be safe, provided you head to the crowded place in a calm, legal manner.

it was in my town so drove to the police station and the guy i think turned or something....cant remember right now. i asked the guys at the station if they go a call over the radio about pulling me over and they said no. the reason im asking is cause thats my tool to see if i can go ahead and pass them and speed. but if undercover cops dont wear there uniforms, what i do doesnt help me

There are some marked cars the same way. Seen a few around Kensington Ave. Not sure about the antenna though. Seen some black Crown Vics on 309 also.

Also have seen SUVs and mini-vans.

and i guarantee a trip to the county jail. you should start looking for a badge rather than jeans and a t-shirt.

My friend got pulled over by a 80s POS Buick Century and out popped a cop in uniform. Most of the time you can tell by the tinted windows, that spotlight on the A pillar, or hubcaps, and the yellow government lisence plates. Thats for my part of Florida anyways.

I have never seen the Lumina, I'll have to keep an eye out for it. I do know that in Huntsville they now have silver Ford Expeditions where the only way you can tell if it is a cop is if you can see its blue municipal tag, or if it's lights are flashing. By then it is too late.

Also, the Tennessee state troopers are getting new Crown Vic's that have no outside lights, and no outside antennas (I think). They are pretty cool, but look funny when the strobes are on because they are in the side mirrors. The only way you can tell if it is a cop car is if you see it from the side, which is kinda scary.
