I have a race coming up this thursday between my 00' Camaro 3.8 and a friend's 98' Mustang GT. The GT only has flowmasters and is automatic. My camaro is mostly stock except for a K&N and I have a 5-speed. I know im more than likely going to lose, Im just asking if anyone has any ideas on what I could do before the race to raise my chances a bit? I will prolly run open throttle body and If I had the mechanical knowledge I would remove the serpentine belt just for the race but Im only 16. My brother's 96' Monte Carlo Z34 gave the same guy a good run for his money and only had him by 1 1/2 car lengths at the end of the quarter but the GT was spinning. I always devestate my brother's car off the line and have him right up to 60 or so. I've been told the 3800 Camaro was a good performer against a GT, I just don't want to get embarrased to bad. Even if I lose I'll try him again when I get my Loudmouth, ram air and my whisper lid. I'll have to launch at a lower RPM because I always spin all over the road anything over 3.5RPM, which won't give me the jump on him out of the hole.
Any suggestions???
