  • Might get the BlackBird back --- Wont happen

For those of you who don't know, I gave the car to my ex when we split up back in January.
Since then I got a Camaro, wrecked it and am now without an F-body.

I have been speaking to April about this and she is tired of doing the upkeep to the car. Had to replace spark plug because of a misfire, replaces O2 sensors, multiple oil leaks. bad hesitation. she just got 4 new tires because the car was out of allignment way bad. She is sick of it. She is looking for another 98+ firebird. Here is the catch: She wants to make sure it is black so that she can keep her hood.

I told her that if she finds a car, then I'll take the BlackBird off her hands and let her have the hood.

If that happens then all I have to do is wait for the damn leinholders to relese the car, (maybe make them a deal) and just do a complete engine, transmission swap from the camaro to the BlackBird.

She just found a 96 TransAm Formula for $8000 with only 56K on it.

Not a bad idea. How come your not transfering the perf. part from the Camaro to the Firebird instead the whole swap thing?

For one, her engine has 120,xxx on it an the camaro only had 63500 on it. Secondly, the transmission in the camaro has been rebuilt with performace parts like kevlar and carbon fiber bands. It also has a high performance shift kit installed. I figured is it easier to do the whole swap thing than just put in the used torque converter. I might just swap out the stock catback to the 3" thats on the camaro.
Hmmm wonder if the headders will fit??

Sounds like a good plan to me, let's just hope she can actually do a burnout in this one ;)

April just called me, it wont happen. She doesn't have the money to pay the monthly payment of $220 plus insurance, and health insurance.

Oh well, I'll just wait till the 2007 Camaro comes out
